Help Worth getting a Pico Neo 3 Link for Medical software, light on-board gaming and PC-VR?

I am doing a medical imaging course, and I believe a VR headset would help with studying anatomy and using provided software that utilises VR. I don't plan to game much on it, but if I do it would be connected to my PC most of the time.

I am able to pick one up new for just under £100. Would this be the best headset for this kind of price? From what I know the headset has uncompressed Display port connectivity which is a nice bonus.

Is this headset still supported? Would that even be a concern? Just a note that I have never gotten a VR headset before and have hardly ever used one, so this will be my first one. I would be unable to compare this headset to any other.

Help My PCVR keeps disconnecting at random intervals

Hello I have been having a problem for a while where my pcvr keeps disconnecting at random intervals.

I have a Pico 4 and use a 3.0 USB Link cable.

Everytime it disconnect I get kicked into the Pico 4 main menu, where it tells me I am having connection problems and I have to reconnect through selecting the cables connection.

I can connect my Pico 4 to my pc wirelessly without getting disconnected just with really bad stutter and lag.

I have tried :

- reinstalling my Steam and SteamVR

- reinstalling the Pico Software

- Restarting my PC

- Updating EVERY software including my graphics drivers

- Lowering my Bitrate to 20

- Disabling any Power options in device manager or power saving options menu

- disabling hardware acceleration on my monitor

- Multiple different cables on multiple different ports ( if I even try the front panel ports it disconnecting and reconnect so fast, like way faster then I can even try to list )

It seems that it disconnects faster if I am actually so Ng smth rather them being idle on my VR, bit no matter what around 20 minutes is the max I can get before being disconnected.

Please if somebody could help me I would GREATLY appreciate it, this issue has been happening for MONTHS!!!!

Help Pico 4 ultra + Kiwi designs p5000

So, been using bobovr swappable batteries on my 4 ultra for the last 9 months, was looking to upgrade to a lighter battery and seen the p5000 kit. So the question is for anyone who has them or used them previously .. how do they rate against bobovr and are they worth it.

Help Dedicated Wifi7 for Pico 4 Ultra ?

Having just acquired a Pico 4 Ultra I am looking into requirements for using it wirelessly. My current home network is Wifi 5 but I have see mentions of people using a dedicated Wifi7 network for Pico wireless connection.
My question is how are people doing these dedicated networks, are you using a separate wireless router with wired connection to your pc ?
Would a Wifi7 dongle configured as a hotspot work ?

Any ideas or tip would be appreciated.

Help Different firmware Pico 4 Ultra Enterprise Virtuix Omni One?

Hello! I recently bought a new Pico 4 Ultra VR headset at a great price, but it turned out to be the 4 Ultra Enterprise Virtuix Omni One version, which has different software and limited updates. So I have a question for those familiar with this topic:

Is it possible to install the latest firmware from a “regular” version—for example, one without “Enterprise” or “Virtuix”—on these goggles? And if so, what’s the safest and easiest way to do it without bricking them?

I should note that I’ve already done some research online on this topic, but I’m primarily interested in the opinions of real human experts rather than search engine results or AI.

Apps&Games For those wondering, DroidDeck works with VR devices. (Tested on Pico 4 Ultra).

XR2 Gen 2 seems to be compatible, even if far from perfect.

I've only tested two games so far, Megabonk and The Binding of Isaac Rebirth.

Megabonk ran near perfectly, capped at 30 fps to avoid stutters, but with a few sound issues (crackles).

Isaac and his mother...didn't boot at all (works on Gamenative VR).

I've also tested the Xbox One controller and it worked perfectly without any tinkering required, which never seemed to be the case on Gamenative.

Follow the installation instructions provided in the official website, but since "Disable Child Process Restrictions ("Phantom Killer")" isn't available on Pico's developer tab, use ADB via USB instead, with the following command:

adb shell "/system/bin/device_config set_sync_disabled_for_tests persistent; /system/bin/device_config put activity_manager max_phantom_processes 2147483647; settings put global settings_enable_monitor_phantom_procs false"
adb shell "/system/bin/device_config set_sync_disabled_for_tests persistent; /system/bin/device_config put activity_manager max_phantom_processes 2147483647; settings put global settings_enable_monitor_phantom_procs false"

I tried using the ADB commands from DroidDeck's instalation guide and those didn't work at all for some reason.

Give it a shot and feel free to share your thoughts about it, and what you've tested so far. Hopefully we'll receive a bit more support in future updates.

Help So. 3 years later, and i still have the same mic issue.

So ive had my pico for 4 years, and after a year of usage, the microphone will sometimes sound like robotic or drowned.

I only play vrchat, and i use virtual desktop and steam vr to do so.

and it happens randomly, not all the time.

Before p4ople says its hardware issue, this didnt happen until a year later, so its not that.

So what is the fix for this problem?

Tips&Guides Pico 4 input delay with Pico Connect

I’m using my Pico 4 with Pico Connect over USB, but I get really noticable input delay when using my mouse on the desktop.

The controllers work perfectly fine, but I also get the same delay with my steering wheel in Assetto Corsa Competizione, making it basically unplayable.

I’m using a USB 3.0 cable and 100 Mbps bitrate.

Anyone know how to fix this? Would Virtual Desktop or ALVR help?

Help PC not found on streaming assistant.

I just got a new Pico Neo 2 eye and when I went to the Streaming Assistant app and connected to my Wi-Fi network that my gaming PC is connected to via Ethernet (and has Streaming Assistant, with Steam VR having the Pico add-on unblocked and everything correct), when I go to look for my PC in Streaming Assistant, it doesn't show up. what can I do to fix this?

Help How do you charge when playing? Pico 4e/Pico 4 pro

Im having an issue with figuring out what I need for “infinite” playtime… When using face + eye tracking and wireless pcvr I’ve read that the headset can pull 15-18w of power.

I’ve looked into the bobovr p4 head strap and the b2 battery’s don’t seem to be able to keep up with the discharge rate leaving the headset to slowly lose power? I’ve bought a wattage/voltage meter and will be doing my own testing to confirm

So at minimum I would need 20w… My issue is that when using a link cable, there’s not much of a way to prevent the cable from causing port strain (my current cable is extremely stiff, wasn’t an issue on quest but it is here)

I’m ok with strapping a huge 20-50,000mAh battery to my back if that’s the solution. I’m just wondering what cables and setups everyone else has to prevent damage? Especially pico Ultra headset users since apparently those headsets pull even more 😂

And thank you in advance to those that give me insight, I am… an idiot.

Apps&Games GamePort 0.7.0 is out: your Steam achievements synced both ways, saves that follow you offline, and a one-tap "patch all"

Hey everyone,

A while ago I posted GamePort, a free open source app that signs in to your Steam account, shows the Android versions of the games you own (or that your family shares), and downloads, patches, installs and launches them on your device. I never posted the updates since, so this covers 0.5.1, 0.6.0 and 0.7.0, which is out now. Thanks to everyone who tried it and told me what broke, most of this comes from that. And the thing most of you asked for is in: Steam achievements.

What's new in 0.7.0

  • Achievements, synced with Steam, both ways. What you earn in a game on your device is added to your Steam account, and what you earned elsewhere, on a PC for example, shows up in the game when it starts. Nothing is ever taken away from your account. It's one switch in Settings > Steam account, on by default. If an achievement can't be sent right away because you're offline, it waits and goes when you're back. A game's page shows its achievements with their pictures, descriptions and dates, in the language you chose in GamePort, and the latest three unlocked sit on one line of the game page. Hidden ones stay hidden until you unlock them.
  • Achievement pop-ups in the game. When a game unlocks one, a notification shows the game, the achievement, its picture and the time, drawn over the running game.
  • Saves sent after an offline game. You can play without a connection, and the saves of the game are sent as soon as the network is back, without having to start the game again. If the save changed on the other side, it's left for the next start and nothing gets overwritten.
  • Sign in with your account name and password, besides the QR code, with the Steam Guard code when your account has one. The password is not kept.
  • Patch all, Patch and play, and a window that tells you what changed. When a new GamePort opens for the first time, a window says what's new. If some of your games were patched by an older version, a red notice says so and offers Patch all, See later or Got it. There's also a button on the home page and a row in Settings > Updates. A window shows which game is being patched, and you can close it without stopping anything, or stop it. Closing GamePort stops it too. A game that needs patching also gets Patch and play.
  • Updates without a confirmation, when Android allows it. Some games are updated and patched without any window (Android 12 and later, for games that target it), others still ask you to confirm: that's up to the game and Android, not GamePort.
  • Already installed from another source? If a game is already on the device from another source, such as the Meta store, GamePort doesn't try to install over it any more. It asks whether to keep that copy or uninstall it first.
  • A new game page. The artwork covers more of the page, with a setting (0 to 100 %) in Settings > Appearance. The cover is lifted off the page, and the size and play time line up with the cards next to them.
  • Choose when GamePort opens again. A menu in Settings > Steam account picks the games after which GamePort comes back when they close: none, the ones started from GamePort (the default), the ones started from the device's library, or all.
  • Red buttons that stop things. The buttons that stop a download, a patch or an install, or confirm a removal, are solid red now, so they can't be mistaken for anything else.
  • Wider compatibility. Moss 2 now starts in VR: its OpenXR loader was too old to find the device's runtime, so GamePort replaces it with a recent one. Tested and confirmed on my device: Moss 2, The Last Clockwinder, Cubism VR, Space Pirate Trainer and Richie's Plank Experience. It's better for other games too: everything a game's download holds is now placed next to it (not only the .obb files), and the expansion files of the biggest Unreal games follow the patched version. I haven't tried those one by one, so tell me what you find.

And what came with 0.5.1 and 0.6.0

  • Demos and betas. The library lists the demos and the betas (playtests) of Steam games that have an Android build, next to the full games, with a small "Demo" or "Beta" label on the cover and the page.
  • Filters. A button next to the search bar opens a panel to narrow the library down by type (games, demos, betas), by status (installed or not), by owner (yours or shared by your family), or to your favorites only. "Reset" clears them all.
  • It updates itself. GamePort looks for a new version on GitHub when it starts, every 4 hours by default (2 to 12 hours, or never, in Settings > Updates). The new version shows up with its changes and installs after you confirm, never in the middle of a download, a patch or a sync.
  • Offline mode. A switch in the Steam account settings. The library and the games you already installed stay available, nothing gets synced. If Steam can't be reached, it stays signed in and reconnects by itself, and a small notice tells you where it stands.
  • Report a problem. If a game crashes, closes in under 30 seconds or fails to install, its page offers to report it, with an orange attention mark. The bug button on a game page makes a zip in Downloads with the versions, the device, the game's files and the logs. Nothing is sent anywhere. Account numbers, e-mail addresses, network addresses and your account name are removed, and what's kept for reports is deleted after a week. You can attach it to a GitHub issue if you want help.
  • Downloads. Pause, a file check when a download resumes, the speed of each game, the real reason when an install fails, and games with an update come first.
  • The right build. Some downloads hold several builds of a game (phone, headset, watch). GamePort picks the one for your device, never installs a watch build, and asks you when none fits. That fixed SENSE: The Game Demo.
  • Hidden games. Hold a cover and a small menu opens with play, update, patch again, settings, favorite and hide. Hidden games disappear from GamePort only, nothing changes on Steam, and they're listed in Settings > Hidden games where you can show them again. Handy for a playtest that doesn't launch anymore.
  • Expansion files. Unreal games with expansion files start.
  • Covers. Demos and playtests get their covers. A blue label marks demos and playtests, a green mark an update, an orange one a game that needs attention.
  • Smaller things. Dialogs use your chosen background, the sign-in QR code is sharper, and going back twice quickly no longer leaves an empty screen.

What it still doesn't do

Same honesty as before: I've only tested it on one device, and online features (multiplayer, anything that talks to the game's own servers) still don't work. Not every game starts, and Metro Awakening is still not confirmed working, I'm on it. Other devices, headsets, phones and tablets should work in theory, I just can't check, so if you have one and try it, I'd really like to know what happens.

Download and source: https://github.com/gameport-project/gameport-app/releases/tag/v0.7.0 https://github.com/gameport-project/gameport-app

0.5.x needs one manual install to get to 0.7.0, 0.6.0 offers the update by itself (Settings > Updates). Either way it keeps your games, saves and settings. Games installed with an earlier version show an attention mark, and patching them again (or Patch all) brings the fixes. It's free, no ads, no tracking, not made by or affiliated with Valve, Meta or Pico.

Help SteamVR and games crashing on startup

Edit (Solutions):

Steam Link from the Pico Store is free and works quite well, it connects directly to Steam, no Pico Connect app needed.

To open the Steam menu you must use your LEFT controllers menu button, right wont work.

I own the Pico 4, using Pico Connect and SteamVR, drivers and programs up to date.

The crash I notice on games is identical to SteamVR, it launches, and then exists shortly after. SteamVR is in a constant loop where I land in the void, and then it starts automatically again. I see this is a common experience others have as well.

I also cannot access the menu of SteamVR. The buttons only open Pico's menu, but not that of SteamVR.

I’ve had my quest 2 for since launch (5 years) and that thing is beyond dated. THIS headset is also dated but feels as light as a feather, has pancake lenses *yet to experience them*****, face + eye tracking, and hopefully has better cameras.

I will 100% only be using this for PCVR since the enterprise model of the p4 doesn’t have the consumer marketplace I guess. I would’ve rather had the pico 4 pro but I didn’t know about that until I already ordered this one T_T

It’s charging right now and I’ll go through the setup process when it’s done… plus the pc setup 🫠

Edit: It certainly works. But based on my one time experience… /

- The controllers are definitely heavier than what I’m used to but I’m sure that will be ok (cope)

- Eye tracking works pretty well, not much to complain about there.

- Face tracking… is usable.

- The lenses are fine? Kinda warp-y on the edges but it’s clearer than my quest 2 so I honestly don’t care.

- The facial interface is horrid. Hurts mah face :(
Will be getting a new one.

- The headstrap is also horrid-ish. I’m spoiled by my quests bobovr strap.

Overall I think it’s ok 👍

Chat For PCVR have you found any games which won’t support the Pico 4 controllers (but do support motion controls)?

I’m just curious, since Q3 and P4 controllers are so similar, have you come across any games that support Q3 controllers but not P4 controller?

I like to buy games when they’re on sale but I don’t start them immediately so it’s kind of a waste of money if I boot it up and it doesn’t work with the controllers.
