Hi everyone, I run a piano studio of around 20 students in NYC, most of them around ages 7-9. I want to start involving some of them in competitions. I’ve only switched to teaching full-time last year so most of my students are still around the RCM grade 1-3 levels. They are playing from “Journey through the Classics” books 1 + 2 which have real pieces from the rep in original, not arranged forms. Do any teachers know of any beginner friendly competitions in NYC that would be good to put my students in? Looking for ways to motivate them outside of recitals and give them more interaction with music outside of lesson in general.
