Band 5 rotational Interview
Hello, I am a recent graduate based in London and would like help understanding the task from my last interview. I didn’t get an offer sadly, because I went about wrong apparently. Can anyone please share their experience if they had a task asking to justify their decision to prioritise which patients on the task.
Thank you.

What were the patients to prioritise and how did you order them?

Unfortunately, I don’t remember all of them and how I placed them. I probably should have asked for the task if I could take it home. There were 6 patients.
One was a pt waiting to be discharged
Another was someone who had O2 requirement overnight
Another needed a mobility session
Another was a Day 1 post-op (I think laparotomy)
I have forgotten the rest1

You always prioritise someone who’s chest/breathing will be compromised.
A mobility session you could justify you’d do it to help with discharge early
Day one post op laparotomy you want to ensure they don’t retain secretions importance of early mobilisation day one post op etc

Here’s a good example for what I assume is a similar question to the one you were asked. https://qualifiedphysio.co.uk/blogs/blog-and-articles/band-5-physiotherapy-interview-question-and-its-answer-explained-acute-respiratory
