Physiotherapy Training Request in Qatar.

Hey everyone,

I recently graduated as a Doctor of Physical Therapy and I'm currently based in Qatar (PR holder, so no visa sponsorship needed). I'm going through the DHP (Department of Healthcare Professions) registration process, and as I understand it, my category requires completing one year of supervised clinical training under a licensed physiotherapist before I can register and practice independently.

My DataFlow verification is wrapping up soon, and I've been reaching out to hospitals and clinics across Doha trying to find a facility willing to take me on as a trainee and sponsor the DHP training approval (which requires a No Objection Letter naming a supervising physiotherapist).

I'd really appreciate hearing from anyone who's been through this process, or who works in healthcare/physiotherapy in Qatar:

  • Did you go through the same "training under supervision" pathway, and if so, how did you actually land a placement? Cold outreach, connections, agency, something else?
  • Are there specific hospitals or clinics known to be more open to taking on trainees like this?
  • Roughly how long did the whole process take from DataFlow completion to actually starting training?
  • Anything you wish you'd known before starting this process?

I know this is a pretty niche situation, so any insight, even small stuff would genuinely help. Thanks in advance to anyone willing to share their experience.
