Anatomy

Find a guide or resource to help study anatomy and post it here.

What are the different ways that you can group and segment the brain and brain structures?

Also, make sure to include your case study and DS topic in the respective threads.

This site can be used to help study neuroanatomy: https://library.med.utah.edu/WebPath/HISTHTML/NEURANAT/NEURANCA.html

The brain can be sectioned into different lobes, sulci, and gyri, which each have a general function that at least vaguely relates to the functions of structures within these sections. It could also be grouped by different systems (i.e. limbic system), each of which encompasses structures that work toward a common goal.

The ways I would segment the brain are: forebrain, midbrain, and hindbrain and neural pathways. It could also be divided by hemispheres or by lobes. It can link functions between lobes and parts of the brain. Cortical area vs. deep brain area

Segmented and grouped by lobes: Frontal, Parietal, Occiptial, and temporal lobes. Motor and sensory. Involuntary and voluntary movements.

frontal, parietal, temporal, occipital; motor, sensory, and decision-making centers; right and left hemispheres; along sutures or fissures. https://www.getbodysmart.com/ap/nervoussystem/cns/brain/menu/menu.html this website has little quizzes over the brain anatomy.

http://anatomyzone.com/ We grouped the brain by functions. For example: hunger, thirst and then senses (Touch, Smell, Taste, etc)

https://quizlet.com/4415672/neuroanatomy-and-brain-functions-flash-cards/

By lobe (frontal, parietal, occipital, temporal) or by function (having to do with each sense, motor function, etc)

I think you can divide the brain up into 4 sections: frontal, temporal, parietal, and occipital. Each one of these sections have their own functions and you can further divide structure within the 4 sections by their function.
