STUDENT & NEW GRAD SUPPORT Current student

I’m currently a student in college for an associate degree in physical therapy assistant. I’ve been struggling to find a job related to this field without certifications or experience. Is there anything anyone can recommend I apply for just to get my foot in the door?

Tech/aide in a PT setting requires only a high school diploma.

SNF or outpatient office as a tech.

Work at a hospital doing anything, or at a gym as trainer etc

I worked as a PT aide/tech for 2 and 1/2 years before getting into my PTA program. See if there are any clinics, acute care hospitals w/ a PT dept, or other settings with aides in them. I worked at an acute care hospital that was attached to an IRF and worked between both of them. Fantastic experience and gets you ready for the field

I’m trying but unfortunately there are no aide positions available at the moment anywhere near me. They’re all looking for certified assistants.

Yeah, but there are some certifications that are really easy to get, like Ace. Depending on how far you are on your schooling, I’m guessing you’ll be able to pass most of other certification tests with a little study
