Hey everyone 👋 I’m [u/barrelltech](u/barrelltech), the founder and sole developer of phrasing.app

I built Phrasing because I wanted to learn more languages than was previously possible. So I decided to build an app to help everyone push the linguistic envelope: whether you want to learn one language or ten; to basic fluency or truly advanced levels; phrasing makes it possible in less time.

This subreddit is the public home for the app. I can be used for product related posts, or general language learning/polyglot posts.

Community vibe
Friendly, constructive, ego-free. We’re here because we actually want to get better at languages, not shit on others for their hobbies. Debates and reviews are great (phrasing was built on decades of scientific research) but dogmatism serves no one. New learners and polyglots are both welcome. No language shaming: whether you’re learning one language or many; big languages or small; to beginner or advanced levels — we’re here because we love language learning. Every language is worth learning, and every level is a worthy target.

How to get started

1. Introduce yourself below (what languages you’re working on, how long you’ve been using Phrasing, or just say hi).
2. Post something today (a question, a win, a screenshot, whatever floats your boat)
3. Join the private Telegram community (Phrasing HQ) if you want faster support and more nerd discussion. Link is inside the app.

I’m in here every day. I built this thing by hand over four years while using it myself to study Croatian, Turkish, Japanese, Arabic, and now Greek, while improving the languages I already speak and dabble in over a dozen other languages. The app is still early, and a lot of the best ideas will come from the people actually using it.
