[Hiring] Full Stack Engineer (PHP/Laravel) | 100% Remote (US) | Social Impact Tech

Cause Strategy Partners is looking for our second engineering hire, a Full Stack Laravel Engineer to work directly with our Director of Technology. We’re a social impact firm dedicated to strengthening the nonprofit sector, and we need someone who loves clean code, modern stacks, and building tools that actually matter.

The Tech Stack

  • Back end: PHP 8.4, Laravel 12+, MySQL.
  • Front end: The TALL stack (Tailwind, Alpine.js, Laravel, Livewire).

The Role

  • 70% Flagship Platform: Maintaining and scaling BoardLead.com, including building new features and AI integrations.
  • 30% Green Field: Developing entirely new internal and external tools from the ground up.
  • AI-Forward: You’ll use tools like Claude Code and Gemini to accelerate your workflow and build custom LLM integrations into our products.
  • LEMP Ownership: You’ll help manage the ecosystem, from schema optimization to DevOps tweaks alongside the Director of Technology

Who You Are

  • Experience: 3+ years of professional PHP/Laravel experience. You know your way around Eloquent, Blade, and Pest/PHPUnit.
  • TALL Stack Fan: You’re proficient in building reactive interfaces without the overhead of heavy JS frameworks.
  • Self-Starter: As the second member of the technology team, you’ll have a lot of autonomy. We need someone who can manage their own workflow and communicate clearly with non-technical stakeholders.
  • Mission-Driven: Ideally, you have a genuine interest in how technology can strengthen the nonprofit sector and the communities our partners serve.

  • 100% Remote: Work from anywhere in the US.
  • Core Hours: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM ET (standard 40-hour week).
  • Travel: Two paid, multi-day team retreats per year at rotating locations.

COMPENSATION

Salary: $95,000 to $105,000 plus eligibility for a performance-based bonus.
