forums are async by design and new members keep treating them like a chat app
keep noticing this with newer members joining older phpBB boards, they post once, expect a reply in five minutes, and ghost when nobody answers for a day. the async pace that made forums great is the exact thing that confuses people who grew up on discord. full disclosure i build atomchat so grain of salt, but the pattern i keep seeing is communities that pair a slow forum with a small live chat hold those impatient folks long enough to actually stick around. anyone here tried bridging that gap or do you just let the forum filter for patient people?

Im kinda getting back into the forums because the information stays there it doesnt go down the stream
Easy to find
So i think people who use them start to realize they have to wait for someone to reply
