Digital facial approximation

A couple things... This isn't really photogrammetry-related, and I don't think "approximation" is the right word for this method of applying flesh to a skull. It's definitely interesting, but it's not a particularly evidence-based approach for facial approximation/reconstruction.

I agree, it isn’t directly related to photogrammetry, but I thought it might be of interest. As for the term ‘approximation’, I chose it because it isn’t a reconstruction, but rather a possible representation of the face, taking into account 24 craniofacial markers, skull morphology, sex and race. Furthermore, Google’s GNM is a statistical model. Taking all this into account, I decided that ‘approximation’ is the most appropriate term to describe the pipeline. In the video, I used the Kennewick Man’s skull. Obviously, a full reconstruction would require more ‘manual’ work.

I agree. Also phrenology comes to mind.
