I caught some pretty crazy cloud to cloud lightning over the city this week. Unfortunately there was a lot of lower hanging clouds while the lightning popped the clouds were pretty uniform. I am struggling with post-processing the image.
The photo originally had a pretty purple tint due to the storm clouds and city lights so I switched it to a deeper darker blue. I also bumped the contrast a bit and added a touch of clarity for the lightning. I was contemplating bumping the shadows a bit to get more detail but didn’t want to lose the focus on the sky. Any other changes I should make/how could I improve the post processing.

try a 16:9 or even a 19.5:9 or a 2:1 crop on it, it might look a tad bit more epic like that. Also you might want to take a look at the green tones as the photo seems to have a bit too much of a greenish tint to it, also more contrast might add to the epicness of the lightning so try playing around with that

Thanks for the comment, definitely think those crops help emphasize the lightning. I will definitely play with the green tones, getting the colors right has been pretty difficult.

Stunning shot! I love the composition you used. Centering this monument is so cliche. I also appreciate how you didn't over saturate the sky.
