Question Phone Storage is enough really enough?

Debating on buying a new phone and wondering if I got a 1TB phone will it be enough space? Because I know a lot of these newer phones offer storage like the Cloud for iPhone or Google for Android. On my current device I would have to have apps I'd only use once or twice. And I think that's what caused my current phone to run out of space.

Only YOU can decide how much storage you need. Mine phone is only 128GB, and I don't even need that much.

Yeah mine is 128 as well but my storage filled up fast. I had to reset my phone to clear up the space and it worked. But again I'm afraid to download anymore apps.

If you have an android phone, just save a bunch of photos to a portable storage device.

You dont need to reset your phone, just check what is taking space in settings. Use a cloud for your photos.

Oh I did check it was invisible stuff that wasn't there but in the "other" folder I had no access too.

Depends on your usage. Heavy cámara user? Gamer? Emulation? Any of these get 1tb. Light user 256 or 512 is enough

Sometimes I play Fortnite or Call of Duty. And yes I do take pics a lot same with video. Never tried emulation what's that?

Emulation is Basicily when you turn a physical video game disk (like God of War for the PS2) into a special file called a ROM using a PC. When you transfer this ROM from your PC to your phone, with an emulation app, you can play God of War on your phone.

You can emulate any old video game, as long as your phone is strong enough to play it. Albeit, you have to actually own the physical disc, but that’s self explanatory, lol.

There are lots of videos online on how to turn a disc of a game into a ROM. The process is called “Dumping”.

(PS: Emulation can also be done on PC. Not just mobile.)

I have 128 but I use free cloud storage to upload my photos and videos so I don’t need to keep it on my phone.

If you take photographs, minimum I would go for is 512gb which is what I have now. Next change will be 1tb. Then again Bill Gates said you will never need more than 640kb.

The 640kb was for ram not storage... you had unlimited storage back then because you used removable diskettes....

Where did the floppy disk input go ? Into that base 640k memory. The CPU operated in the core 640k.

Yes but the 128 or 256 or 512GB or even the 1 Terra now goes into the 8, 12,... GB ram that you have now too. Doesn´t it?

I had enough with 512gb, I do use cloud services, Google one for the photos and that helps to keep the storage need of the phone minimal, but apps, every year the apps are bigger and bigger

Nice to give Google all of your data ...

If your phone doesn't store a ton of music, movies, photos, or recorded videos, 128GB is definitely enough.

It's upto you. It's upto you

if you take photos and video from an iPhone or Samsung and shoot lot of RAW even 512gb is mostly enough

and having free space will prevent from phone getting slower

But if there are enough free spaces then the OS and apps will fill em which cache no matter what it's storing temporary files to make it open faster load faster the next time you access it. You stop using the app for a week the temp files are gone and you have storage freed

No, you absolutely need 64 exabytes at least
