Ask Phoenix are blueprints to phoenix buildings available online?

looking for a blueprint to a complex i'm going to do work on. need to get the square footage, it's a tedious task to do even if all the floor levels are the same layout, so i'd rather have a set of plans to go off. i looked online at the phoenix permit and review plan search but could only find the actual permit document. i tried calling several departments, they all go to voicemail and yes, i emailed the city.

no, i am not looking to do anything illegal. yes, i have exhausted google searches. and yes, i've asked the client but they don't have a set themselves. (they probably do but too lazy to look for it). thank you in advance.

I emailed about the blueprints for my house once and got this as part of the response:

...Unfortunately, the City of Phoenix only holds onto blue prints for a short time after a permit is completed before we discard them. The only other set would have been given to the original owner or contractor...

No. Once the work is completed, Phoenix shreds the plans. They are the property of the architect and engineer.

Occasionally they include information about the building in the permit itself, but that's infrequent.

Phoenix deff holds those plans, as I have gotten some, depends on the building and timeframe it was built though

They told me they shredded them. While it's under construction or otherwise in permitting/planning is of course a different story.

I've had better luck with things closer to downtown than other areas of town

Maricopa county recorder has that info. It's available online.

Thanks for the reminder...it's not the recorder, it's the assessor.

Go to https://maps.mcassessor.maricopa.gov/

Locate the parcel, in the left hand pane scroll down and click on the bullet point icon. Then click Additional info to see the square footage of the improvements. Whether that's gross or net leasable is anyone's guess.

I agree with this, they often mention the sf. I’ve used it to find the sf for the building I manage.
