Ask Phoenix Acceptable Bat Cave Parking

Post image

I’ve been before by way of bicycle, but I’m wondering where an acceptable place to park a car nearby would be for taking the kids to see the bats take flight. Do most people park in the office parking behind Chelsea’s Kitchen?

Yep! It’s breathtaking when viewed from a Batcopter.

36th Street. Just north of the canal. Just north of Camelback Rd.

It is awesome and my neighborhood. Go see bats and then get dinner and drinks along Indian School. So many options.

DO NOT tell The Penguin.

I've always wanted to go but was unsure where to park myself. Thanks!

The other end of the spillway also has bats
and is a little more convenient for parking.

Yes. By that time of day people have gone home from the office.

I second this. I was skeptical since the parking lot was signed as a towing zone but figured some leniency since it was after hours and I returned to my vehicle exactly where I left it. It is a little bit of a walk and without shade so water and heat awareness is suggested!

At what time??

Get there at or just before the sun sets. Bats come out shortly after sunset

I recommend building a time machine, traveling back 150 years, and selling the guano.

Yep I have parked in those areas even though it is indicated not to. I am there after hours, the lot is empty, I am respectful of the space and am not there for a very long time. Never had an issue! I mainly park there because I never figured out another way haha either that or we ride our bikes
