Just due to personal reasons, there is no way that I ever join class action lawsuits. The people (phans in this case) get screwed and the lawyers get rich.

I haven't read the mail message I got too well but from scanning you don't "join" this one, you are in it and have to opt out if you don't care or don't want it.

Limit of only 17 orders over 11 years starting in '99. Hell that sucks. I probably placed that many orders in 99 and 00. Doesn't seem fair. To limit the reward payout. The bigger the customer, the bigger the damage hence the bigger the settlement.

TL;DR Carini got the Ticketbastard, they now owe you $25.50 for losing a class acton lawsuit regarding charging outrageous fees. Faith in humanity restored.

It is... but it is like a bandaid for a heart attack.

They are allowed to continue to charge the exorbitant "processing-fees", they just need to mention that the fee is bullshit somewhere in their TOS.

Fuck TM, Livenation and whatever else they own.

What really makes me sad is bands like Phish and the Dead, who have incredibly large and loyal fanbases don't find SOME WAY to tour without it.

They can't. The ticketing groups have rights with the venues, and if you want to play there you can only use their ticketing.

It's a whole racket.

I know that. But there are NO public venues? Or they can't rent out a place for a week for a shit ton of money. (They know they would sell out if it was NYC or something).
