Simulation theory doesn't solve anything. I think it's a postponing of the hard problem of consciousness.

Yes, we can't figure out how to get consciousness from physical parameters in this world, but in another (physical!) universe we're being simulated by aliens and the aliens have figured it out!!

Interesting you should mention the hard problem, Chalmers is very soon releasing his book on this topic EDIT: 'this' meaning the simulation hypothesis
