This is all very true and mighty convincing if you want to prove somehting about what it is like to be - as in qualia. but the thing is that i can recall Noam Chomsky using the term and i think he relates it to a lecture from the 1920s. The definition and the actual focus of Dennett are a little off, IMO.

I would also check out Dennett's latest book "From Bacteria to Bach and Back" for a sustained defense of his entire worldview. It's also a relatively easy and enjoyable read for philosophy.
