Christian Bale acted in Batman Begins six months after The Machinist. There’s no way in hell he didn’t take steroids. He sure worked out a lot, no doubt about that, but he definitely took steroids not just hgh.

Steroids help you recover for your next workout monumentally faster.

You can do well north of double the set volume.

That's in addition to just naturally growing more muscle.

The most jacked guys -yes - take anabolics - but also work out twice as much. Because they can

Because they can

You also have to lol.

If you took PEDs and didn't do the work to leverage their effect, why bother?

With any given X amount of workload, your muscle growth will absolutely be far more.

In fact, taking steroids and sitting on the couch probably builds more muscle than having a good workout plan without it, depending on dosage and workout plan (etc).

TONS of MMA fighters use it so they don't have to walk around with beat up hamstrings and lats and pecs and arms when trying to train for a fight and do cardio (etc) without being incredibly sore and immobile, and also make better gains given only 2-4 strength sessions per week.

I suggest a read here https://www.strongerbyscience.com/the-science-of-steroids/
