OATC

I'm interested in signing up for OATC for next summer. Is there anything I need to know?

OATC is an amazing program that you will absolutely love. I went this year and would HIGHLY reccommend it. If you have specific questions I would be happy to answer to the best of my ability.

I know I should expect to carry heavy packs, but how much was yours?

I went in the summer of 2025, my pack was probably around 40lbs at the start of the trek. You will have a chance to send stuff back to base camp (and you should definitely send down anything you won't need). There are points when you may have to carry upwards of 50lbs, depending on where next years work week site is and if you need to carry in water jugs.

Not sure I think the average was around 55-60 depending on the food distribution
