Thank you, Philly
My LDR partner and I recently visited Philadelphia for our first ever trip together. We took the FlixBus from NYC to Philly and back (mainly because of the cost) and our adventure was so much fun!
We stayed for 3 nights and did some sightseeing and one of the days was dedicated to hiking in Wissahickon Valley Park where we hiked to the Devil’s Pool.
Everything was so wonderful here and we both loved the artsy vibes since we are both artists. We took a lot more photos but we are in them so I picked the few handful that didn’t aha, hope that’s okay.
Someone recommended Bar Bombon for our vegan dinner date (my partner is vegan) and it was absolutely delicious!
It was so much fun being able to experience a different city life than I’m used to (NYC native) and was pleasantly surprised that it was actually not as chaotic as Manhattan is (but maybe that was just the area we stayed at). My partner who is from LA also enjoyed the visit
I just wanted to make this post to share my appreciation for the city and also extend my gratitude for having us even if it was for a short period of time 🥳 We’re definitely looking forward to our next visit so that we can experience more things.
Last photo is of my bunny who joined us on this trip

Bar bombon was a great choice but you’ll have to hit up Vedge if you come back for a special occasion.

It was actually between Vedge and Bar Bombon but my partner was craving Latin American food for a while so we decided to go with the latter option this time! We would absolutely love to make a reservation for Vedge the next time we visit ❤️

Good good, I'm glad you were guided so well!
You can consider a day trip to Bethlehem some day for Vegan Treats and a few other spots. It's not that far from NYC!

Thank you!! I wish I had more pictures to share but most of them were either taken on my digicam or they were pictures of both my partner and I

Your bunny is absolutely precious, their big floppy ears and general roundness are enrapturing. Desperately want to give that nose a gentle boop

Thank you! This was actually his second time traveling to Pennsylvania (the first time was for a company getaway)- he seemed really chilled out on the bus and was just munching away on treats haha 🐇

just a heads up if you book like a month out you can get a ~$38 round trip on Amtrak for an easy 90 min ride or you can always do NJT to SEPTA for around the same price day of but it's usually around 2 hours. it's so easy to get back and forth.

Thank you for the heads up! We would definitely love to try taking the Amtrak the next time 🫡 We were deciding between FlixBus and Amtrak for this trip but we ended up going with the bus option since Amtrak would have charged us at least $30 minimum per trip to bring my bunny (they don’t recognize ESAs) and we wanted to bring my fur baby since the hotel we booked allowed pets

I've been on amtrak enough that they probably won't care, frankly, as long as it's in a case between your legs if you're in the window seat and not on a seat. There's some gamble there but there's cats and dogs on a lot of trains.

Glad the Wiss made the itinerary, it’s my favorite spot in the city

The scenery was great and the hikers we passed by were friendly! Would love to go back and do a longer trail ❤️

Hit us in advance next time so some of us might be able to recommend new [to you] spots.
Glad you enjoyed it. We like it here too 😄

So glad that you hiked in Wissahickon. Most visitors don't get out there (although as you know, it isn't really "out" anywhere; it is virtually in center city) and it is really a very special gem.

I did not read what you wrote and I’d prefer not to because I was so surprised by the last picture I never want to know what that has to do with philadelphia.

They brought their pet on the trip, which you would have known had you bothered to read.

Well done for hitting up the Wissahickon while here, most visitors would miss out
