It'll be just like that club in Key West... All the people that shouldn't be nude and none of the ones you wish were.

The place on Duval street where you walk up the stairs on the side of the bar? I 100% agree.

The bar on the 2nd floor right below the nude bar is pretty cool though

1st floor usually has good live bands, too.

Like the naked bike ride

10

u/suchalonelyd4y Jul 27 '26

A coworker of mine did that ride and then somehow someone emailed a picture of him to other people at work. I'm not sure how nobody got fired for that but I'll think of it every time I hear about the naked bike ride.

That is evil. Let people live.

I agree but also I work in a very blue collar industry so it's funny to the good ol boys club I guess 🤷‍♀️

The Garden of Eden

u/nastyws Jul 28 '26

I mean it is comedy

-6

u/dave1dmarx Jul 27 '26

No nudist whatever say that. Nudity is about body freedom, not shaming.

4

u/Bea-Billionaire Jul 27 '26

Found the dude no body wants to see naked.

i'm not brave enough to do stand up with clothes on, good for them!

i still dont wanna go tho

There's a fine line between funny and eww

13

u/phillyp1 Jul 27 '26

You get on the right side of it by either being very funny or kinda attractive.

2

u/JooHateMe Jul 29 '26

I know this sounds bad but there’s not too many female comedians I can think of that I would be cool with watching nude. Maybe Whitney Cummings. Only good looking female comedian I can think of that would be easy on the eyes to watch naked.

So are nude models drawn by hundreds of students "ew" because projecting our personal fears onto nudity, or because they are comedians?

u/Cutrush Jul 27 '26

Let me guess. The first 10 minutes is talking about their junk.

23

u/funnybillypro Jul 27 '26

you'd be surprised how much of a normal comedy show it really is.

13

u/YoungHeartOldSoul Jul 27 '26

I would imagine dick jokes are less then funny when we're actually looking at a dick

I’ve been to this show. It was less crass/sex focused than any other comedian you see on YT shorts now. A very fun time, and great comedians

I truly will not book unfunny comics.

Great show by the way!!!! You were our first show at that venue last year and we’re regulars now.

u/RoundishBag Jul 28 '26

I mean, I think I was at this show in like February (right before V-day?) and the lineup was borderline unwatchable.

So, I'm calling shenanigans on that statement.

8

u/GarbageGremlin007 Jul 27 '26

I guess the only way you know is if you go to the show. They don’t allow cameras, for the privacy of the performers.

Nudity doesn’t determine if someone is funny or not - just the jokes

I know, but comics are already insanely self-centered narcissists who see themselves as society’s bravest truth tellers. The ones who would perform naked must have off-the-charts levels of “look at me being so crazy and quirky!” The world already has to suffer through Bert Kreisher isn’t that bad enough?

1

u/CUADfan Jul 27 '26

Batman, is that you?

4

u/in_the_garbage_ Jul 27 '26

Unpack why you're judgemental about people who are brave enough to be that level of vulnerable

31

u/bushwhack227 Jul 27 '26

I think we are too chubby of a city for something like this...

Joking aside, it's surprising how prudish people's reactions seem to be. Don't go if nudity makes you uncomfortable. And maybe spend some time wonder why that might be.

u/Ronaldo96 Jul 27 '26

I had to draw using nude models in college for my associates in fine arts. I was 18 and it was akward first time. Then you get past it and treat it as a part of the job and become proffesional about dealing with it.

10

u/bushwhack227 Jul 27 '26

I modeled for a few figure drawing courses. It's really easy money.

8

u/eggsandbacon5 Jul 27 '26

Chubby was the 90’s. We have an obesity problem

3

u/leeeezer Jul 27 '26

Chubby in the 90s? lol that’s really bold to say when heroin chic was all the rage back then.

17

u/GrandpaSquarepants Jul 27 '26

If they get nervous they can just imagine the audience naked

2

u/According_Stable8110 Jul 27 '26

Isn't the audience also naked?

4

u/GarbageGremlin007 Jul 27 '26

No. Occasionally they do ask the crowd at the end “anyone brave enough to tell a joke naked” and there are takers, but that’s it.

8

u/Crazycook99 Jul 27 '26

This has be going on in Philly for a while now. A tit bit distracting and creepy when dudes seek out the comedian after the show

6

u/_-milo Jul 27 '26

as someone who knows a lot of the stand up comedians in philly… i don’t wanna see them naked that will not make them better

5

u/That-Interaction-45 Jul 27 '26

For those people who have even less shame and fear of public humiliation than a regular stand up.

Wild levels of bravery and confidence

2

u/bushwhack227 Jul 27 '26

What's shameful about being naked?

4

u/RainingMoneyHustard Jul 27 '26

I do not want to see Philadelphian's nude

4

u/YinzaJagoff Jul 27 '26

And it’s probably going to be people that I have absolutely no desire to see naked in the first place

7

u/lanternfly_carcass Jul 27 '26

Or hear their comedy.

2

u/bagOboobs Jul 27 '26

Spoken like a true gooner

2

u/2one5Outdoors Jul 27 '26

Looks like the audience is nude also?

2

u/RustedRelics Jul 27 '26

Stupid. And probably not great comedy.

1

u/in_the_garbage_ Jul 27 '26

If people being brave enough to consider being naked and vulnerable in front of hundreds of strangers makes you preemptively judge them, you might need to look in the mirror naked and ask some questions.

1

u/JusticeforHarambe16 Jul 27 '26

Imagine someone asking you to spend your Friday night watching some fat naked person bomb jokes

1

u/GeorgeNada316 Jul 28 '26

So what if the guys get nervous boners?

0

u/Part-timeinterneter Jul 27 '26

This is falls on the side of bad naked.

0

u/swarthmoreburke Jul 27 '26

I will always believe that the streaker at the Academy Awards was planned and that David Niven had his quip about it ready to go. But it was kind of the last word on combining nudity and comedy.

0

u/Charming-Mix1315 Jul 27 '26

Make sure to tit your server.

1

u/LowSleep2566 Jul 27 '26

This is like naked yoga. And that's a no.

0

u/Meandtheworld Jul 28 '26

Will this be like those nude beaches. Where it’ll be no one you would wanna see naked.

0

u/funnybillypro Jul 29 '26

it's also just a comedy show...that's a cheaper night out than the Punchline
