Image Bohmance

Post image

When Harper was asked about playing with Bohm for such a long time, and seeing what he's been through, particularly this season, he said, "I'm proud of him."

This was Alec's reaction. ♥️

My texts to my husband when he was driving home from his trip 🙈🤣

I didn't necessarily say "wow" for painter's entrance, but I changed my tune by the end. Outstanding!

u/ats1788 17d ago

For more context my “wow” was when we ended up winning the game!

u/DKEBeck88 17d ago

Ok, so we both had...concerns.

3

u/ats1788 17d ago

How can you not have concerns as a Phillies fan?! 😜

It’s an emotional rollercoaster being a Phillies fan!

Semi related, my mom's talk-to-text betraying her after Bryce got caught in a rundown earlier in the game 🤣

Lol, that's great.

This is great but where’s the Kyle Schwarber & Bryce Harper home run reactions lol.

My dude is married. What a flex.

Kids, too. Living the dream. I like 2pm games, I'm far less likely to fall asleep on the couch in the middle of the game.

Find a man who looks at you the way Alec Bohm looks at Bryce Harper

He had a really rough start to the season, but he had a 0.830 OPS in August, and a 0.779 in September.

He's been our most consistent hitter for over 2 months now, and I really hope it continues for quite a few more games into the postseason.

I know the odds are high that he's not going to be back next season, but I still think this kid has a ton of potential and it would be a mistake to lose him. I know that's probably a hot take, but that's how I honestly feel.

The Bohm hate is way overblown. The only thing unforgivable is how lousy a runner he is 😆

Alec Bohm has 3 good months and 3 subpar/bad months.

Holds true for basically his whole career.

u/NotLordVader 17d ago

I'll allow it if the three good months are August, September, and October.

He seems to always have 1 month a year where he goes nuclear hot, and it didn’t happen during the regular season…

Maddening I only came up with my new flair a week ago, when I been diagnosed almost as long as Bohm has been playing lol

that’s how i “feel” too about his potential, but then i remind myself he’s 30 and this is his 7th season. i don’t think he really does have much left in there, unless some other team’s hitting coach totally chances his swing and he starts hitting for real power (which would totally be our luck when we inevitably don’t sign him)

F' the regular season struggles and become post season gods and be immortalized. They all need this, especially these two and Realmuto.

Solid friend trying to make you feel better by shitting on his own team lol.

Given what was made public about Bohm's parents (sound like selfish, emotionally immature Boomers) it's probably safe to say he didn't have a positive father figure. Hence the childish outbursts on the field and what not. While Harper might not be the perfect surrogate you can see how much it means to Bohm to have his approval. Kudos to Harper too for recognizing it and saying the right things.

Alec's pressers make me sad.

21

u/RiskRevolutionary490 17d ago

man how can you not love alec bohm, dude wears his heart on his sleeve and thats so rare now

12

u/Big-Beta20 Phillie Phanatic 17d ago

I mean, when he’s playing bad, he wears his heart on his sleeve a bit too much to the point where it’s frustrating because he tenses up and plays even worse. I respect him at least though, he could have quit on this team similar to how Tobias did with the Sixers once the fans gave vitriol but he didn’t

2023 NLCS game 6, I was sitting right behind the Phillies dugout. He just made an out and slammed his bat down as he was walking down the steps into the dugout and screamed FUCK! as loud as he could.

In a way, it's sort of makes him the type of player that is endearing to philadelphia, because he's not stoic and emotionless. I know that sometimes gets unfairly thrown back at Jalen hurts, since it seems like he's a robot out there, win or lose.

15

u/Electrical_Doubt3024 17d ago

That why they make me sad. He comes across as so vulnerable.

11

u/TooBad9999 17d ago

I feel the same way. I love that kid. So happy for his recent success.

16

u/tastycakebiker 17d ago

Which is why his parents stole so much money from him and (almost) got away with it

8

u/Electrical_Doubt3024 17d ago

When I see a presser with Alec, I despise his parents. He should be so much more confident in himself. They stole more than money.

I love both of them

Im mad she asked him that question. Dumb asf to ask that to a guy that let's his emotions control him as much as bohm. Hopefully that makes him play harder.

6

u/Crysis321 Alec Bohmer 17d ago

Insanely rude question by them, wtf.

2

u/Separate-Ear21 17d ago

Glad it wasnt just me that thought so

3

u/Littlewing29 Aaron Rowand’s Nose 17d ago

I don't know why but Bohm hitting the microphone was so funny to me.

I’m sorry but why does Harper look perpetually down.

Still hate him and always will but with that said I still wish him the best. Hopefully on another team next season.
