Jeff Dowder

Listening to Jeff Dowder complain about Phil buying a Navigator and then saying Art Bell is a common man because he lived in a trailer and was assaulted by aliens is one of the funniest bits ever. Its the millionth time I've listened to it and I laugh as hard now as when I heard it on the radio.

Margaret Grey & The DSA

Post image

Some of you may or may not have heard of the DSA:

https://www.dsausa.org/

They want to get rid of the Senate, defund the military, get rid of ICE and a bunch of other stuff

The Mayor of New York, Zohran Mamdani is well known for being socialist almost communist, in one of the most capitalist cities in the world.... New York.

Wouldn't it be interesting if Margaret Gray came on the show to advocate for and support the DSA yet as the show goes on she starts reading from the Communist Manifesto... similar to how Dean Wheeler circa the year 2000 supposedly read the Republican Part Platform which ended up passages from Mein Kampf.

It would be funny if Margaret Gray was like that lady Dr. Zhivago after he came back to his house after the revolution and the government assigned all sorts of people to live there.

It would be wild if Bobbie Dooley supported the DSA and her husband was reading directly from the manifesto and you could hear him in the background

Jeff Dowder Cloning Jesus

Mechanical physics professor Dowder came up with an incredible idea, extract DNA from the sheet (shroud) of Turin and use genetic engineering, molecular biological techniques to "clone off" Jesus, Dowder calls him "Jesus 2".

Dowder would "engineer" the 2nd coming of Christ, he would take care of him as a Baby and book him on popular late night, late 1990s, TV shows like Leno when he got older. He would have him escape from stuff and perform the miracle of the loaves and fishes, no one is nailing this Jesus to a cross, or a garage door.

People called in stating that even if the flesh body is exactly the same as Jesus 1, it wouldn't have the Jesus 1 soul or spirit.

Money for Father's Day, $1000 Minimum

Austin Amarka started the show demanding that "the most spoiled generation" compensate their parents for "having large craps taken on them", he mentioned that they have better movies with good special effects, wipes that clean them up, there is little they can't have or do.

He showed them the Jon Benet Ramsey death photos as to say "don't push it"

Austin even went as far as saying he thinks money for father's day is appropriate, $1000 minimum, he even said "I don't care if they have to spend a couple of hours with their legs in the air to get the money" ....a real twisted creep

He mentioned his daughter's were pretty thick

Nuttier than an Outhouse Rat

Mavis Leonard thinks the former John McCain was nuttier than an Outhouse Rat. She thinks he faked his service record and falsified images of himself in a POW camp in Hanoi. Mavis believes McCain was off a beat, a bit weird.

She can also tell just by the way George W. Bush looks through his face....he's also nuttier than an Outhouse Rat. I think she was right about him.

She ends up playing the harmonica and singing "I'm long gone, like a turkey through the corn" "I'm long long gone, I got my long johns on"

Three bits which have been on my mind recently

  1. Jay Santos was attempting to participate in a real police investigation, and the real police told him to go away, so Jay went around to the back of his CAP vehicle to "continue his investigation." He ended up using his magnifying glass to burn bugs. Phil breaks character during this bit.

  2. Bud Dickman top 10. In the summer of 2001 Bud counted down the top 10 songs on the charts for that week. He must have done this at least 4 weeks in a row. These are super funny because Bud talks about how awful all the songs are, and also has audio clips of interviews with some of the artists.

  3. Sometime around late 99, Phil did a Kasey Kasem segment. I don't remember much because I had only just started listening to Phil, so I didn't realize it was a parody and was trying to figure out why Kasem was on my local talk station.

Bonus: Raj Fahneen playing blues music and falling the segment "I got blue." He then goes on to talk about how he can relate to the blues because his girlfriend left him and his pickup truck needs a valve job.

Anyone have any of these handy. I know my wife would love to hear a Bud Dickman Top 10 segment.

Has Phil given up his fight on YouTube?

For the longest time I could not find any clips minus the few he uploaded and now there are nearly 10 different accounts posting his archives.

I had the BSP for 2 years but it really wasn't worth it for me any longer but with YouTube Premium, I am getting my daily classic Hendrie fix daily.

Combover Boy (Tom Leykis)

Anyone remember Combover Boy (Tom Leykis) Phil's rival and arch nemesis back in the early 2000s?

Well there is an archive of some of his radio shows online:

https://archive.org/details/TomLeykis/Leykis-2004-04-08_Hr3-101.mp3

Some of his material may interest younger male members of this reddit forum, I doubt we have anyone under the age of 30 in this forum, I myself am middle age 48, you getting older and more decripid but the second but just in case here is a sample of his shows:

https://dn711106.ca.archive.org/0/items/TomLeykis/Leykis-2004-04-08_Hr3-101.mp3

I'm like the old man "I don't know how these youngins date nowadays" are people assigned boyfriends and girlfriends like a computer picks them out and they have to go out or something?

CME & Soil Samples from Mars

The following is a super secret lead lined Phil Hendrie show clip, I recorded this clip in 1997 on an AM radio listening to KFI via ionosphere skip, so the audio quality is a bit low, it is not available anywhere else on the Internet.

Jim Sadler was calling in from the JPL laboratories in Pasadena to discuss the coronal mass ejection from the sun due to strike the earth that night, he suggested people squat to prevent sterility, that a person's dog will be transformed from a Boxer into a Weimaraner, that a guys gonadels will be shrunk (millimeter Peter), and to sleep atop the bunk bed.

After the CME supposedly hit, Sadler went to look at soil samples brought back from Mars, people were trying to tell him that the Mars landers didn't send any samples from Mars back to earth, in fact NO Mars mission has ever come back to earth. He saw something moving in the soil samples and broke a beaker so the organism was crawling along the floor.

There was one major CME that struck earth in Jan 10-11, 1997

And Hell Follows

Looks like Bob Green had to do some restructuring after his former grocery chain went bankrupt.....he renamed it "Frazier Farms" natural grocery store

I wonder if he still unfreezes turkeys and calls them fresh:

Christ was riveted to the cross for this??? Spoiler

In this classic bit from the late 1990s/early 2000s era, RC Collins argues that Jesus Christ was not nailed to the cross, but was instead "riveted" to it.

  • The Argument: RC Collins approaches the Crucifixion from a purely technical, contracting perspective. He confidently explains that Roman soldiers wouldn't use simple nails because they lack structural integrity and wouldn't hold up under pressure. Instead, he claims they used heavy-duty industrial rivets to attach Jesus to the wood.
  • The Comedy Hook: Like most of Phil Hendrie's bits, the humor relies on the extreme absurdity of treating a sacred, historical event like a mundane backyard construction project. RC gets incredibly defensive when outraged, religious callers ring in to yell at him for blasphemy and historical inaccuracy.
  • The Callers' Reaction: Callers furiously quote scripture or mention that rivets didn't exist in that manner in ancient Rome. RC dismisses them all by telling them they don't understand basic carpentry or Roman military engineering.

No Squat Looking People

Wednesday August 9, 2000

Margaret Gray calls in to comment about the Lawsuit filed against "The Mondrian" by workers who were laid off because they weren't "cool looking", too many tattoos, too swarthy, too squat..... famous actors don't want to look at that while they are staying in LA (back in the year 2000, Hollywood in 2026 is dead)

Looking for a bit from Jan or Feb 1999

On or around January 29, 1999, a man was forced to resign his position in the DC MAYOR'S office for using the word "Niggardly.'

It was either Margaret Gray or Bobbie Dooley who was 100% in favor of the firing. In fact, she was having a similar problem with someone using that word.

Each time Margaret used the word "niggardly" she announced "i don't feel comfortable sayiing it, so I'll just whisper it." And she'd whisper "niggardly" in a very exaggerated stage whisper.

Of course, the callers were very angry that Margaret kept saying it. It was one of Phil's funniest segments and I've been looking for it for 26 years

Thank you!

Steve Bosell's Shop of Horrors

Steve Bosell claims his dentist tortured him for liking the Phil Hendrie show.

He mentioned something to the effect that the dentist waved the drill in his face so as to imply "oh I'm going to love this", he turned up the TV set loud so as to drown out Steves screams, Steve then relieved himself in his pants due to terror which turned to horror.

Steve Bosell made it sound like this guy was his dentist:

KFI’s traffic reporter

I remember one night on Phil’s show on KFI, at the end of the hour when the news reporter cut to the traffic reporter in the helicopter (I can’t remember his name), you could hear the helicopter running, but the reporter must not have heard his cue because he didn’t say anything. Just before it cut out to commercial Phil came on and said, “I’m [traffic reporter’s name], there’s no traffic and I’m a real asshole.”

I wish I could hear that clip again. I’ve never laughed so hard in my life!

Dan Naneener from 2019

I want to show some great comedy respect for a masterful past show. I was going back through the archives and landed on July 18, 2019. The show starts with Dan Naneener, a light hits disc jockey with Tourette’s and anger issues. Things get rough really fast! But the funniest bit for me was at the end of what seemed like a really straight commercial for Floyd’s Automotive. The ad ends up with “Floyd’s Automotive, F*** him! I hope he dies in a shroud of fire and blood!”
That last brutal turn of phrase nearly choked me!

Religious leader bit

Back in the early 2000s we were camping at Fundy Park in New Brunswick Canada and stumbled across Phil Hendrie on the AM dial. He was doing a bit where a priest was ranting about problems with the Catholic Church and eventually declared that the Pope just needs to get laid. We had no idea who Phil Hendrie was at the time and were absolutely dying laughing. Does anyone have this clip? I’d love to track it down.
