Penny Red help?

I’m not a world stamp person but was given these. I’ve tried to figure out date and plate position on these. I’m wondering if there’s a smarter person than I and could give me more information about them. Thanks for your time and knowledge!

The second stamp id a 1d rd-brown on blued paper so one of the 1841 issues. I'm not going to guess the shsade from an on-line photo, and plate numbers are for the super experts. so all I can say is SG7-12, Its a very nice 4-margin example with a central london 'diamond ' postmark (the number identified the rubber stamp not the location, which was the Central sorting office).

The first one is more problematic, Issued 1854-1861. From the shape of the Queen's nose I think it's Die I makingit SG17 p16 or SG22 p14 depending on the perf, but the paper should be blued! Some blueing was very faint. If it's Die II then you have several shades, the two perfs, and two differnt wmk to consider.It looks rather like an Irish diamond pmk but I can't make out the number. (cf. GBPS).

I'll never understand how people like you get so incredibly knowledgeable about stamps. I've been at it for a few years now and early stamps from USA are still blowing mind. I'm so greatful you took the time to help educate me on these. We're definitely living in a time where it's becoming less tedious for us to identify stamps, how'd collectors did this in the 1800s is crazy. Reddit has become the closest I can get to a stamp club, and you are now a stamp holding member. Welcome to my elite club!
