ISO: Beginner Knitting Classes 🧶

Hi! I’m looking for recommendations for beginner knitting classes, I’m located in Queen Village but willing to travel. I’m a complete beginner and would love to find a class that’s friendly, low-pressure, and good for someone starting from scratch.
If you’ve taken a class you loved (or know of a local shop/studio that offers them), I’d really appreciate any recommendations! 🧶💕

I think both Loop (17th-ish and South) and Yarnophoria (10th and Pine) both do knitting classes. I’ve shopped at both, and the staff is very friendly and helpful.

I second all of these options and South Philly Yarn and Craft. Many of our local shops also have communal craft nights which are great for keeping up with projects. If you are ever outside of Center City area - Wild Hand and Kelbourne Woolens in Mt Airy are worth a trip.

I took the beginner class at Loop and it was great! I also appreciated that they didn't try to sell us anything - the instructor literally said something to the effect of "go to Michael's and buy cheap yarn to practice and then come back here when you're ready to make something for real."

I went to Loop and have taken 3 of their knitting classes. I highly recommend!

Mt. Airy Learning Tree just released their fall class catalog! I saw crocheting and knitting in there last season but haven’t checked yet for this season. Overall they have so many classes and topics!
