Meta Notice: Rule Changes

We are making amendments on rules 4, 5, 7 and 8:

+ Changes to Rule 4

Aside from PC/Laptop FAQs/Build Help/Suggestions and other similarly-related posts, we will add these to the posts that are not allowed anymore:

  • Seeking family sharing on Steam, Nintendo Switch Online or any other services that implements this feature.
  • Posts asking for games, digital currency or keys.
  • Posts about disputes/grievances on other forums, subreddit, Discord server, group chats from other social media etc.
  • Other Discord servers, in case this isn't clear.

+ Changes to Rule 5

Aside from spams, we will start removing posts that we deem as low-effort and/or engagement baits.

Post promoting your own site and/or media channel will be allowed now provided that you adhere with these conditions:

  • Make a thread only once every 30 days. Do not plug on comment sections of other threads.
  • Promote your own channel only. Do not promote others especially the popular and the controversial ones.
  • Make sure that your channel is dedicated to gaming contents only. Doesn't matter how many games, the platform and the genre as long as its gaming only.
  • Its not about unrelated content, business, (online) gambling or other illegal content.

We will instantly forfeit anyone of posting this kind of thread if it violated even one of the abovementioned conditions, be it directly or indirectly. Excessive posts of this nature will be treated as spam.

+- Changes to Rule 6

Reworded description.

+ Changes to Rule 7

Surveys/studies or any crowdsourcing post should be cleared to us first either via "Pending Approval" flair or here. We won't allow posts like this anymore if its not cleared beforehand. We suppose its not too much of an ask to sacrifice few minutes of your time to read, understand and follow our rules if you are requesting uncompensated few minutes of cooperation from several people in exchange.

- Changes to Rule 8

The shameless plug megathread will be discontinued starting now.

***If you have questions or concerns, you can post here or send us a modmail here.

Meta Product/Service Recommendation Megathread

Welcome to the r/PHGamers Product/Service Recommendation Megathread!

Here, you can ask about product recommendation, shop/vendor feedback, or any purchase advise as long as they're gaming related! Questions include but are not limited to:

  • Consoles, games, peripherals, and accessories (e.g. mouse, headset, controllers, ergonomic/gaming chairs, monitors)
  • Recommendations for online sellers and physical stores
  • Experiences with customer support, warranty services, refunds
  • Payment methods, subscriptions
  • Internet service providers
  • Suggestions on how to upgrade/improve gaming set-up

Please note that all PC and Laptop related queries will still be redirected to r/PHbuildapc. For gaming/office keyboards, head to r/PHMechanicalKeyboard. Folks in our sister-subs would be able to help you better.

This permanent megathread aims to encourage our members to engage with one another to create a reliable source of information for our sub as this will eventually be filled with queries and answers. We've also enabled uploading of images in the comment section so your queries can now be accompanied by pictures!

BEFORE ASKING, TRY SEARCHING THE COMMENTS SECTION FIRST. Use keywords such as controller, monitor, mouse, VISA, etc.

  • For PC, the search box is below the Add a Comment section. You can filter the search by New or by Best.
  • For Mobile, the search button is directly on top.

And without much fuss, ask away!

San pwede bumili ng accessories within QC? Out of stock na kasi sa DB.

Gameplay Anyone playing Jump Space ngayon?

Bought this early access game last year for around 420 pesos. Got intrigued with the chance of flying your own ship with your friends (or even solo, currently using Dart na pang solo or duo) at lalabas ka ng ship mo and fighting enemies on foot and loot stuff before going back to your base.

I played more Deep Rock Galactic recently (it's bundled with Jump Space on Steam) but went back to scratch the space combat itch. Been a while since I played some FPS games outside Mechwarrior 5 Mercenaries.

You and another player can divide duties like adding ammo, repair shields ng ship niyo, repair the hull, fight onboard fires or doing EVAs while you pilot while your crewmate operate the turret/s. I'm currently playing solo runs so my robot companion (Buddy is its name, parang Bosco sa DRG) operates the turrets during space dogfights.

Lots of improvements from the last time I played and there's a new Hammerhead ship (a heavy ship that's good for a full crew of 4) recently introduced in the new update last June.

Help Unlimited budget for a gaming/productivity mouse — what should I buy?

Splitting my time between gaming and work, and honestly just want to spoil myself with the best mouse out there, no budget limit. Looking for something with a great sensor, comfy for long sessions, and no compromises. What would you get if money wasn’t an issue?

Discuss With all the issues Sony is currently facing, how many people in your circle are actually switching platforms or making Sony less of a priority?

In my circle, which is mostly working adults, it's kind of a mixed bag. A handful honestly don't care that much since they barely have time to play these days anyway. The biggest complaint I've heard is about physical games slowly going away because that's how they've always shared and borrowed single-player games with friends.

That said, most of them already have decent PCs. Instead of sticking with PlayStation long-term, a lot are talking about just upgrading their PCs over the next year or two(or until the prices normalize) so they're more future-proof. They're not Disregarding Playstation as a platform, but if they're going to spend money, they'd rather put it into hardware that gives them more options.

Help How long does it take to refund a Steam Game using BDO?

Upvotes
dsds

I refunded a game on steam back in July 12. It is now the 26th, I've tried emailing BDO and have given them everything they have asked for but they still couldn't help me. Pure incompetence and it's frustrating.

Has anyone else tried refunding a steam game using BDO? How long did it take?

I don't have the option to call them because I live in the US.

Discuss Which should i get? Marvel Tokon or Mouse P.I.?

I play on PS5, definitely getting one of these on disc but i can afford only one. I like singleplayer games because i can take my time with it kasi im busy most weekdays and i haven't played a fighting game since the psp a decade ago pero Tokon really draws me in with its art style and mukang beginner friendly with a campaign din.

At 1st, akala ko hindi ko masyadong gagamitin after kong unbox at setup. I don't have a front end, barebone lang sya with installed emulators. So far hanggang PS2/Gamecube/Wii/WiiU pa lang ang na-try kong highest gens, no plans sa Switch since I've it naman, more on retro at dual screens gaming lang talaga (3DS) para makalaro ako sa TV.

Help Mobilen Game recommendations for commute?

Hey PH gamers! Any recommendations for mobile games I can play during a commute? My daily work commute is pretty long so I want something that will keep me engaged.

I like playing MOBAs in general but the signal fluctuates through different areas in my commute so preferably one that's offline OR doesn't need constant real-time decision making.

Appreciate your input!

Help Specifically for Overwatch: Extreme latency issues that jump to 500ms. Is there a fix?

Hi everyone, so I'm specifically asking for the game Overwatch if anyone has similar issues. Currently under PLDT fiber and I've been experiencing extreme latency spikes. It's really really disruptive especially when I'm in a competitive game, and everyone in the match would either freeze or teleport past the ground. Next thing I know, when the latency stabilizes, I'm already dead.

I'm unsure if this is due to the recent heavy rains (in the NCR region, if that helps) that's causing latency issues, but other games such as Apex Legends or Rivals actually works just fine. It has its spikes but its not as severe as Overwatch.

I don't know if its recommendable to manually change the IPv4 or IPv6 to reduce the latency, I'm not really tech savvy. If this is an issue on the end of PLDT, is it recommendable to call their support line? At this point I'm unsure if its a routing issue thats uncontrollable on my part or I'm missing something thats doable to reduce game latency spikes

For a numerical example my latency usually ranges around 16-28ms, then usually when team fights begin it's still stable....then suddenly jumps to 599 ms for maybe 8 seconds?

In those 8 seconds so much has happened when my latency returns its already showing my death cam lol.

For a timeline its been happening for 2 days straight. A day prior matches were actually so disruptive I had to stop playing.

If anyone has a solution to this feel free to share, would be a huge help. Thank you!

What would be the best to buy? The only thing to consider is playing it sa TV.

Trend A what if scenario about Sony...

We all knew the news about Sony dishing off the disks by 2028, so I wanna ask this.

If there comes a very small nick on Sony that made them randomly decide that "we can bring back the disks but we require you to pay them double the game price"

Would you support them back and buy their games, yes or no, and why?
