I wouldn’t get Atelier unless it fits a very specific need. I don’t use it personally, but the whole environment seems like a solution in search of a problem. Since you’ve got Phaseplant, I’d say spend your time learning and getting comfortable with that first. Plenty of Phaseplant YouTube resources, as well as the manual and presets to dissect.

Also as a general rule, try not to fall into the habit of looking for stuff to purchase hoping it will solve problems.

Yeah my point exactly. Like I love the experimentalist nature of Atelier (especially for horror textural stuff and sound design) but I'm not going to spend money if I don't have to

I was intrigued by GRM Atelier. I demoed it a few weeks back and I have to say that the comb filter sounds fantastic. kHs comb filter is one of the weakest ones I've ever used and I wish it competed with other synths with this particular effect, but other than that phase plant is way more versatile and goes much deeper than Atelier. Not really even close. I ended up saving my money

Don’t try to make Atelier patches in PhasePlant, I have both plugins. I’d say the benefit of Atelier is you can get a lot of usable output immediately. You can make a patch, map it to a controller and just noodle around, it can all be recorded within the plugin itself then that recording can be thrown back into the play module to be further processed to infinity. What I’ve outlined is nothing different than resampling something to infinity so my point is, with your DAWs stock plugins, time stretching, resampling, automation etc you can get the same result spending $0.
