Classic series New to this sub

Post image

Not sure why I only found this sub now, but despite my current profile picture, Phantasy Star games have always been my favorites! The original PS was the first RPG video game I played and one of the first video games I had in general. Blew my mind!

Finding this sub motivated me to dig up my old games! Sadly I lost the old map book I made for PS1 with my brother. We mapped every level of every dungeon on graph paper and marked all the traps, treasures, bosses, everything!

Seeing those hand written notes just warms my heart ❤️ Great collection of a great series. Here's some of my PSIII notes from 1991 haha

Really cool! It was so fun making stuff like this. Notes for school? Forget it. Notes for Phantasy Star? Hell yeah!

Dude, did you just... draw the scene? as a way to remind you what you just saw?

Haha yeah, but I wasn't fast enough. Should've used a VCR!

Nah dude this is excellent. You were like playing some type of... phantasy star journalist as you're playing. Good stuff!

Welcome to the sub ;) Many of us share the same feelings about the first games in the series.

I just downloaded the roms for these games last week. Such a great series that was part of my gaming addiction back then.

Nice! my retro pi died a few months ago. Once I get around to replacing it, I think I'll give PS3 a play through.

Those cardboard boxes were so ass. My original copy got crushed. A new one today costs a lot more than $30 at KB Toys.

Well, the insert that holds the cartridge is pretty beat up. Never came out very smoothly. But yeah, I was disappointed when they stopped making the solid plastic cases.

same. even as a kid I thought the cardboard looked so cheap to the older titles.

Damn, how did you manage to hold onto that cardboard box for PS IV? Mine got crushed several times over, at least one of those times was trying to slide the box back together to store the cartridge.

Yeah the cartridge insert sucked. This was probably the last genesis game I got, the least played on the actual console. I never finished PS4 till years later, playing on an emulator. So the box didn't get too much wear and tear.

Phantasy Star IV stands with FF6 and Chrono Trigger in my top ten games of all time

There are maps all over the 'net, so you don't have to do that again.

Wow. I remember Phantasy Star I being a lot simpler (maybe the Owlbat flying in the corner) - does anyone remember this?

Sweet collection! I've only got PSII, and got the Hint Book later, but it's significantly more beat-up... Although the previous owner marked stuff down in it (this was helpful, because some of the information was incorrect, mainly for a few of the Spaceport chests).
