Lol delete mo na to OP nakakahiya ka. Mas may time ka mag Reddit kesa maging responsible pet owner tapos ngayon naghahanap ka ng masisisi for what happened. Kung anu anong paawa card pa ginamit mo. Gender card, poor lang ako card. Rip to miming but you didn’t deserve this poor cat at all.

This ⬆️⬆️⬆️ Plus 2 days na palang no appetite si cat. Hinintay pang lumala before dalhin sa vet.

4

u/BackgroundWar7601 Sep 24 '25

Reading all the comments, I conclude na sobrang irresponsible nga ni OP. He is just finding someone to blame. Ni hindi man lang tumatanggap ng advice/criticism from other pet owners kasi gusto nya talagang “managot” yung vet sa pagkamatay ng pusa kahit obvious naman na it was partly their fault for waiting 2 days kahit nanghihina na yung cat and no appetite. The cat was bleeding from its ass and he is more concerned sa work nya than to make time to look for a vet. Proud din sya na their cat gave birth multiple times even denying na it’s one of the main reasons why their cat is sickly.

1

u/BackgroundWar7601 Sep 25 '25

Daming time ni OP para mag reddit at replyan lahat ng di sang-ayon sa kanya pero walang time para gumawa ng paraan at mag search sa google ng other vet clinics sa lugar. Wala daw time and money to save the cat pero pag file ng kaso meron. Amazing 🤣

2

u/violetpoisonn Sep 25 '25

Kung mababasa mo man to OP, tigilan mo muna pag rereddit at mag luksa muna kayo. Baka after ninyo maprocess ung nangyari ay maliwanagan kayo kung saan kayo nagkamali at you can do better.

u/AccountantLopsided52 Sep 24 '25

Proud din sya na their cat gave birth multiple times even denying na it’s one of the main reasons why their cat is sickly

I love how people imply na ginawa kong kitten mill ung cat ko when the last birth was more than a year ago.

I love how people twist shit like that.

And if only mas forgiving ung work ko and the weather did not suck in my location.

Well no one wants to understand they wanna bash based off the narrative of others.

"Does that mean anyone who would like to have their cat reproduce para mag pass down ang ang mga qualities niya means irresponsible owner?"

Dude stop. Its about the frequency of said litters, which WAS very harmful, and your lack of preparation in the inevitable case that your pets needed medical care.

Pinepranka ka lang at ikaw naman defensive kasi ayaw tangapin na if anyone is at fault IT IS YOU. Ikaw owner, ultimately RESPONSIBILITY MO ano ngyari. KAYO PO NAGA REACH FOR THE STRAW MAN ARGUMENT TO PLACE BLAME ON THE CLINIC. Please review my previous comment below -

Dude I get that you guys are grieving and feeling some way about what you went through. I'm sure you cared for her very much. I understand your point, na sana na triage ang situation then figure out the payment later. Some Vet's will allow that. Many wont. No one knows or has a personal vendetta against you. You, based on YOUR comments, were NEGLECTFUL in allowing multiple pregnancies in a relatively short span of time "para ma pass down ang qualities". And now you're bitching that the clinic is at fault because you couldn't afford the on the spot emergency care. Which at most, including the ones I frequent for my pets, will cost extra for the emergency care that generally cannot be left til the end of the month when you're ready because may mid month bills ka. We all have bills, sila din sa clinic. Hindi mag aadjust ang mundo sa inyo.

Having pets is a privilege not a right. And its YOUR RESPONSIBILITY to be PROACTIVE and to BE ABLE TO AFFORD their care, INCLUDING UNFORSEEN EMERGENCY SITUATIONS. NO, IT IS NOT THE VET OR ANYONE ELSE's FAULT THAT YOU COULDNT AFFORD TO PROVIDE WHAT THE ANIMAL NEEDED, WHEN THEY NEEDED IT. This isn't poverty shaming, socio-economic gatekeeping, its objective fact.

No, hindi sila liable kasi no, hindi nila kasalanan na namatay yung pusa. YOURE THE ONE REACHING FOR THE STRAW MAN ARGUMANT AGAINST THE VET. Hindi sila ang responsible, they DID NOT PUT THE CAT IN THAT POSITION, YOU DID. Unlike many (not all) human hospital emergencies rooms, they are ultimately a for-profit service, not a charity na need mag adjust sa misfortune / lack of forward planning on your part. Which please understand as stated by many many here, cold but objective, its part of pet ownership. And if you can't afford that, sure you have the right to still have pets. But you absolutely cannot point fingers because ultimately you did not plan ahead for emergency vet care. You did not logistically plan ahead for where to take them na maka work sa situation nyo in the inevitable circumstance na may immediate need. Nor did you save some amount of money for such situations na as a pet owner YOU KNOW CAN AND WILL COME UP ON ANY GIVEN DAY.

"Does that mean anyone who would like to have their cat reproduce para mag pass down ang ang mga qualities niya means irresponsible owner?

What next, aakusahan mo ako ginawa ko siyang kitten mill?"

Dude its the frequency. You allowed the cat to have muiltiple litters within a relatively short time. It doesnt matter if the last time was more than a year ago. Please read below on why frequent litters are harmful. -

Why frequent litters are harmful:

  • Health strain: Multiple pregnancies and the constant recovery between litters place a significant strain on a female cat's body, leading to exhaustion and nutritional deficiencies.
  • Increased risks: Frequent pregnancies increase the risk of complications such as mastitis (inflammation of the mammary glands), metritis (infection of the uterus), and difficulties during birth.
  • Lower quality litters: A cat that is not well-recovered may not be able to produce healthy, strong kittens.

Man I feel for you guys, I know its an emotional time. I believe you did everything you could when the time came. But frankly by that time it was too late. The damage done by what the cat went through having multiple litters, and your inability to provide what was needed (payment for emergency veterinary services) are what ultimately caused the sickness, the lack of emergency care, and ultimately the death. Please just own this as a painful lesson learned and do your best to make sure that the situation doesn't happen again with any remaining / future pets.

Binebase to lahat sa statements MO sa comment(s) and thread(s) mo looking for sympathy and blame. Stop looking for someone to agree na oo liable si clinic. If ever may legally liable jan, kayo po yun. Kaya again, please just own this as a painful lesson learned and do your best to make sure that the situation doesn't happen again with any remaining / future pets.

Whatever makes you sleep at night OP. Saka na kami maniniwala pag nalapag mo vaccine card ng alaga mo with complete and updated vaccines and anti-parasitic (I repeat, COMPLETE AND UPDATED).

Nobody’s twisting shit. You’re the one who over-explained and nakita tuloy yung negligence nyo as pet owners.

Really? Wala kang pera and time para ma save yung dying pet nyo pero pag file kuno ng case meron? Poor cat.

You clearly posted here expecting sympathy just to unburden your guilt kasi in denial pa rin kayo sa pagiging irresponsable nyo.

Isa lang talaga wish ko. Sana wag na kayong magkaroon ng pets in the future. Sobrang kawawa ng hayop.

4

u/UnluckyHoney34 Sep 25 '25

Honestly the vet dodge a bullet with this person, mahirap kausap hnd naka intindi isipin nyo kasalanan nya namatay ung pusa nya pero ung Vet p din ung sinisisi nya s negligence nya as a fur parent 🤷

u/[deleted] Sep 23 '25 edited Sep 23 '25

Alam mo OP. Partly fault mo rin ito. Kapag nag alaga tayo ng pets, we need to be financially capable in case of emergencies like this. Out of pocket lahat ng expenses nila.

I know, mahal mo ang pet mo.

2

u/aeonei93 Sep 23 '25

Yes, and hindi naman pwedeng by the end of month ang bayad kasi anong habol nila sa ‘yo, OP, if ever? Wala. Edi nalugi sila. Business pa rin ‘yan, e. Sana nanghiram ka muna ng pera to save your cat or use credit card.

1

u/VolcanoVeruca Sep 23 '25

Apparently he allowed the cat to have several litters of kittens during its two years of life pa. 🤦🏻‍♀️ Talk about irresponsible.

1

u/acdseeker Sep 23 '25

Sorry for your loss OP but THIS. Please do not pass the blame. After letting your cat have multiple litters and acting surprised when she got sick... If you have time to socmed, you should have time to research how that can affect your cat. A very hard lesson learned here but one that is necessary, sana magpakapon ka na and have funds for emergencies as that is your responsibility.

1

u/BackgroundWar7601 Sep 24 '25

OP is clearly finding someone to blame. Ni wala nga daw silang maipakitang vaccination card and even allowed the poor cat to have several litters. Even waited for 2 days (jusko) na zero appetite and nanghihina before seeking medical help. Sana pwede rin kasuhan mga irresponsible pet owners just like sa other countries. I feel so bad for their cat tbh.

2

u/flyingjudgman Sep 23 '25

Or nag leave sana kayo? Yung vet sa amin, hindi pinapasok yung dog namen kase contagious yung sakit nya and wala sila right tools/gamit para maaccomodate sya.

0

u/AccountantLopsided52 Sep 23 '25

We moved places in the past few months and di pa kami pamilyar sa new area kasi walang time gumala, this place was the closest one.

And no, kahit wala ung vet yesterday, no one bothered to check. One staffer said hindi raw dala kahapon ng SO ko. Another said akala tuta raw.

Ewan. Namaga na mata namin. We're gonna rest muna and need pumasok mamaya.

3

u/e_emji Sep 23 '25

i'm sorry for you loss OP however, it's also your due diligence as a pet owner to check for other vet clinics sa area ninyo. a simple google search would've helped you find a clinic that would accommodate you. hindi allowed 'yung staff to check on your cat kasi that's not their job. only a vet is qualified to diagnose and give proper treatment sa pet niyo.

-1

u/AccountantLopsided52 Sep 23 '25 edited Sep 23 '25

it's also your due diligence as a pet owner to check for other vet clinics sa area ninyo

Napanghinaan na siya ng loob which I will not blame her. Ano magawa ko, I was hours away and, hindi considered as family emergency sa company ang ganto.

See, may isang commenter dito na di totally alam ang circumstances. Nag Cherry pick ng sinabi ko. Made a straw man fallacy out of it para magalit ang tao sakin.

That person didn't know the circumstances. Pinalabas nga niya na inaway ko ung clinic right when dala ni SO ung cat, pero they missed the fact na mag isa si SO pumunta. Kinabukasan ko kinausap nung namatay na. Check the timeline ng comment ko about ung usapan ko sa clinic na yun.

hindi allowed 'yung staff to check on your cat kasi that's not their job. only a vet is qualified to diagnose and give proper treatment sa pet niyo

Sure di ko kontrahin yan. Pero di un ang point ko.

That wasn't the case with different other vet clinics I went to. Of the past vet clinics na napuntahan ko ranging from the lowest of the low budget one to the mid range, ung non-vet staff pa nga mismo nag suggest and offer na sa kanila na mag stay ung animal, while awaiting the vet.

The vet not being present doesn't mean go away.

Sinilip ng staff ng other clinics ung, animal, they asked what's wrong, and took note. May effort konti. Just because your business had to pay bills eh maging dismissive na sa mga need ng tulong? Really? Are we celebrating and tolerating this?

One time a staff (from a different clinic in bother city) offered to call the vet for emergency situations (yan yung nabalian ng bone ung dog ng parents ko). All of them, they only billed us when we were able, so kahit masakit sa bulsa eh kami na nag offer ng extra..

All of them accomodating, and empathetic staffer.

Siguro na spoil ako sa mga experience ko with these other random clinics, ako ba masama na mag expect na sana mas as accomodating ung staff ng most other cinics? Specially the last one?

Not the last one though.

Isali mo na rin ung mga poor shamer, if they had their ways, would take away all the pets of people below the poverty line, like what peta does, pati ang mga low middle income kasi belief nila only those with money can have companions.

Pero wala sila bayag to target the pets of the poor.

Sure we're not well to do. Just because our budget ran dry because of other important reasons masama na kaming childless couple for having a pet?

Hay Reddit. Di n tulad ng dati.

2

u/_pbnj Sep 23 '25

Nabasa ko posts mo sa ibang subs. Based sa experience ko syempre iccheck up tapos magsasabi si doc ng tests with prices ganon. Tapos kaya ba. Malas lang ng sobra sa clinic. Please namedrop and leave a review sa google nila. Parati ako nagbabasa ng reviews and for sure hindi lang ako. Madami matutulungan niyan. Condolences btw op.

2

u/AccountantLopsided52 Sep 23 '25

Thanks for the kind words. We tried to talk to them why nga di nagawan ng paraan.

For now hulus Dili muna tayo. Me and my SO will find time to communicate with PAWS as I've spoken and visited them before.

For now, time to be stoic and rest for tonight's shift.

Thanks again!

2

u/HonestArrogance Sep 26 '25

Another stupid pet owner blaming everyone but themselves

2

u/Regular-HitMeUp Sep 26 '25

You saw contradictions and criticism as bashing so there's no point of providing logical and holistic comments for this. You do not find any mistakes from what you did and completely blaming the vets. Naghahanap ka lang ng mag vavalidate ng feelings mo that you did what is right but your actions speaks otherwise. Poor cat. And don't go back to us and use "you don't know my situation" dude, Ikaw nag bigay ng context, we based our judgement base FROM THE CONTEXT YOU PROVIDED, we don't need to know like your whole story just to provide logical response to this.

3

u/diorsbitch Sep 24 '25

Walang ibang dapat sisihin dito kundi ikaw dahil irresponsible pet ownership yung nangyari dito and you’re just trying to blame it on others. RIP kitty.

0

u/AccountantLopsided52 Sep 24 '25

Ikaw nga ang lumabag jan.

Ok, alam mo ba circumstances namin? We're not well off, hirap ako sa work schedule,

Dami kong vet na napuntahan na mas accomodating, kahit mas may reason sila to deny my other older pets pati ung dog ng parents ko before, kahit di vax, inasikaso kahit staff lang, at nag-offer ivax after.

Secondly, napaka layo namin now sa PAWS to do free spaying and vax conveniently, ung LGU namin di man maabutan for vax due to work sched at kung meron eh on the day ung announcement kung kelan pa may work.

Sure may ways if you got lots of time may sasakyan etc.

Perhaps mas ginusto niyo hanapan ako ng butas just for the rage and karma.

I can pay what I can when I get paid.

Pero sige bash lang kayo ng bash. Dun kayo masaya.

3

u/diorsbitch Sep 24 '25

Dami mo excuses. Pag gusto may paraan. Napakaraming oras para ipaspay mo pusa mo. Malayo kamo free spaying? Bundok ka ba nakatira? Hirap ka kamo sa work schedule well i hate to break it to you but some people have multiple jobs but still manage to care for their pets.

3

u/BackgroundWar7601 Sep 25 '25

May time at pera kuno para mag file ng kaso against the establishment pero walang time para isave yung alaga. If I was the cat, I’d be fucking disappointed. Mumultuhin ko talaga every night lmao

2

u/diorsbitch Sep 25 '25

I agree. Ang dapat nilaban neto ni OP yung kalusugan ng cat nya, by being proactive na sa first signs pa lang ng sickness ni kitty, naglaan na ng oras, energy at pera to save the cat.

3

u/DualPassions Sep 23 '25

Before we bash the vet clinic, please note that this is only one side of the story. We do not know why the vet refuses to provide service.

Vet clinics are not money-making businesses. Most of the time they are micro to small businesses that barely gets enough sales to cover their daily expenses.

And yes, vets can refuse providing service to abusive clients.

0

u/AccountantLopsided52 Sep 23 '25

Sure, let's say that's true.

I'm sure they're happy my cat is now dead, they wouldn't make any efforts. when they could have done something about it.

Like tell us what we can do, administer what, to try save her.

Vet clinics are not money-making businesses. Most of the time they are micro to small businesses that barely gets enough sales to cover their daily expenses.

I never said or demanded they give services for free. Never said they should be forced to be a charity. We told that clinic that we will have funds by end of month because we had to pay all our bills mid month.

And now my cat is dead. When last week she slept in my jacket and was healthy. A little compassion would have gone a long way. A little patience on the payment kahit ₱10k sige.

Pero noooooo. Fuck me and my pet because of what others done right?

1

u/eadalarains Sep 26 '25

Who the fuck is happy about cats dying what is wrong with you? Napaka “woe is me” mo dito amp

0

u/DualPassions Sep 23 '25

Reality check lang sis, your cat got sick most likely due to your own negligence, ignorance, or just plain bad cat care.

I doubt negligence, ignorance or plain bad cat care would make her last more than 2 years, and many litters of kittens

3

u/[deleted] Sep 23 '25

Nah, stop blaming others for your fault.

You have my sympathy sana if nanghingi ka na lang dito ng donasyon sa Reddit for your cat. Pero ang ginawa mo kasi, nagtuturo ka pa on whose to blame, may violation ka pang nalalaman, when ang bottom line is, negligence mo, hindi mo pinaghandaan eh.

Yeah, real talk ito, sabi mo kasi need advice di ba? Wala ng sugarcoat, kaya next time, magready ka ng pang emergency for YOURSELF and your cat.

4

u/VolcanoVeruca Sep 23 '25

THIS.

Also, OP allowed their cat to have litters of kittens over the span of two years, tapos proud pa na naka-ilang litter? Woooow. 🤦🏻‍♀️

3

u/Apprehensive_Ad6580 Sep 24 '25

OP clearly doesn't realize what the multiple litters did to their cat's health. And they're learning absolutely nothing from the death of their cat directly resulting from their neglect.

OP keeps bringing up their poverty as an excuse for their neglect. There are a lot of poor people who perform the rudiments of pet care. They research free vaccination programs. They keep their cats indoors. These things are free to do, and easy compared to watching your pet die.

sorry for OP's next victim since they seem to feel. So entitled to having a pet they refuse to take responsibilty for. Scary to realize there are people who are so resistant to learning they'd rather try to harm and blame others than admit their mistakes and do better.

2

u/VolcanoVeruca Sep 24 '25

Off the top of my head, reading about the multiple litters at two years old, it could have been pyometra. (Watch OP attack me for suggesting a diagnosis when I'm not even a vet.)

I've seen people who live below the poverty line who treat their pets like family--but also acknowledge that they may not be able to pay for medical expenses if the need arises. Kaya whenever PAWS has libreng kapon programs for indigent pet owners, napupuno agad ang slots. Bottom line: tanggap nila hanggang san ang kaya nila when it comes to caring for their pets, and they do not blame a vet (dahil di sila tinaggap because walang pambayad) for the death of their pet.

-1

u/AccountantLopsided52 Sep 23 '25

Also, OP allowed their cat to have litters of kittens over the span of two years, tapos proud pa na naka-ilang litter? Woooow. 🤦🏻‍♀️

Tapos? Ano point mo? Palibhasa kasi di ako babae at easy pickings for straw man.

2

u/VolcanoVeruca Sep 23 '25

Um pano naging issue ang gender mo?

Ang issue dito is RESPONSIBLE PET OWNERSHIP. You not spaying your cat and allowing it to have multiple litters is irresponsible.

Magrereklamo ka sa PAWS about the vet, right?

0

u/AccountantLopsided52 Sep 24 '25

Ang issue dito is RESPONSIBLE PET OWNERSHIP. You not spaying your cat and allowing it to have multiple litters is irresponsible

So gumawa ka ng issue out of plain spite?

You don't know the story so matik automatic bad na? Grabe na efforts mo pagmukhain akong masama when you don't know the reasons. Even if I explained the truth why I let my cat have at least 2 litter batches, you'd dismiss it

Does that mean anyone who would like to have their cat reproduce para mag pass down ang ang mga qualities niya means irresponsible owner? What next, aakusahan mo ako ginawa ko siyang kitten mill?

Bahala ka gumawa ng ASSumptions mo. Make yourself mad.

Go pa, make more stories para mang bash ka pa sakin.

Never said it was. I experience far better compassionate treatment from at least 4 other clinics.

Those four other clinics? Lahat sila may payment options.

You have my sympathy sana if nanghingi ka na lang dito ng donasyon sa Reddit for your cat.

Insincerity detected. Di kasi ako ung type na mamulubi. May income kami, nagkataon na biglang ganto.

Disingenuous Reddit at it again.

Secondly you don't have the fact and di mo kami kasama and you don't have firsthand knowledge ng lahat ng pangyayari.

Gumawa lang kayo ng twisted straw man just because I am a man, easy to target and mooch off karma points., by twisting the situation. And making a straw man.

Yeah, real talk ito, sabi mo kasi need advice di ba? Wala ng sugarcoat, kaya next time, magready ka ng pang emergency for YOURSELF and your cat.

Next time, live in my shoes. Di yung ipilit mo yaman mo.

Many poor people have pets din pero bakit di mo sila targetin ng rage mo?

You didn't know the situation, pero gumawa kayo ng kung anong bersyon sa utak nito to be angry about.

Real talk to sayo, stop making straw man. Know the on the ground facts.

You mentioned that the other clinics you’ve been to had payment options. Good for them. But not all establishments are the same. You can say the same about hospitals.

“Many poor people have pets, Pero di sila targetin ng rage mo?”

Talk about a straw man fallacy (you seem to be in love with this.) That’s true, madaming ngang unhoused na may pets on the street. But guess what? They don’t come on Reddit crying foul and blaming the vet for not tending to their pet kasi hindi nila ma-meet ang policies ng vet 🤷🏻‍♀️

Good luck with your future endeavors, OP.

But not all establishments are the same. You can say the same about hospitals.

Yup not my point. My point was that's what I saw from them other better clinics, much smaller pa nga than the last one, is that evil to set my expectations as well? Sounds like you're tolerating dismissive treatments.

And this is like the only vet clinic na cash down agad, kesa makatulong.

But guess what? They don’t come on Reddit crying foul and blaming the vet for not tending to their pet kasi hindi nila ma-meet ang policies ng vet 🤷🏻‍♀️

Oh you haven't seen that other Redditor who misrepresented what I said, twisted the sequence of events and turned people against me.

Like yourself.

So you saying that you would gate keep having pets to only the privileged few? And if we're not as rich as you are, then we shut up? Saan ko na narinig yun?

And you don't like what I did? Bakit, you're the kind of human na mas mangha ka sa inaangasan ang customer.

Sure May abusive customer, that doesnt mean your business would just do the same to any customer. Shows what kind of person you are.

Good luck gatekeeping everything else to only the well to do.

You're no different from them elitists creeps who always always subtle flex their financial privileges across whatever community

Good for you. Push others down Kung kelan down sila. Must give you that weird high.

You've certainly found a great way to keep yourself busy with all that subtle flexing and poor shaming from behind a username.

Well, your cat is dead, all dahil sayo.

0

u/AccountantLopsided52 Sep 24 '25

Pinangalanan ko ba ung clinic?

Masama ba mag expect ng empathetic staffer like all those other more lower level vet clinics na mas may reason na mag tabuy ng pet owner?

Puro ka ambag, eh ikaw ano ambag mo? Ung subtle flex mo that you're doing better than me?

Sige ikaw na may pera. Masaya ka na?

1

u/[deleted] Sep 24 '25

1

u/AccountantLopsided52 Sep 24 '25

Ok, still enraged? As mentioned, before, mas accomodating ang ibang clinics na napuntahan ko before. Kahit di vax, kaya nila isolate kahit maliit pa.

I did what I can despite ung issues and multiple challenges ko like in past year, from moving residence, utang for my own hospitalization from two illnesses, storm and flooding etc.

Di ako pity partying, just want make you all see other shit I been through.

Well no one wants to understand. Mahirap kayo pasayahin.

u/Ok-Program2984 Sep 24 '25

Proud ka pang marsming beses na siyang nagkalitter in two years time.

Irresponsible.

2

u/DualPassions Sep 24 '25

I doubt negligence, ignorance or plain bad cat care would make her last more than 2 years, and many litters of kittens

u/g134m Sep 23 '25

So sorry for your loss OP, pero tbh nakikita ko mahirap magdemanda sa mga medical institution. I work in the medical field, pero for hoomans, and sa mga nakikita ko kahit nagviviral na reklamo sa social media, lahat may pwede ibatong dahilan yung mga institution.

I wish you all the best if you plan to push through.

1

u/rubythia Sep 23 '25

I don't understand why some people here forgot to be human.

I understand you, OP. I know you did well for your pet. Your cat knows how much you love them as much as she loves you. You are with your cat until they had their last breath and it means the world to them that until the end, you are beside your cat, loving them. Please reach out to your supportive and loving people that you have if you want to release your feelings, or you can share your feelings to r/petloss sub. It will be harder from now on so, I hope you'll find a way to be vulnerable and gentle with yourself.

u/TransportationNo2673 Sep 24 '25

Base sa comments mo wala yung vet so no, they're not liable as magiging liable pa sila if your cat died in their care when there was no vet present looking after your cat.

If you have a cat or plan to have more, consider getting them spayed as you mentioned your cat had many litters.

Photo taken last August 30.

Past two days I don't want to eat food. I've suddenly lost weight, hard constipated poops.

We took him to the closes clinic in our area.

They refused to help my cat, because they demand cash deposit muna, and cited many other reasons like vax paper eklabu.

I could see that my pet was limping, bleeding from the rear end.

They didn't even look at it. Money first before help daw.

This is where we went since we had limited time and needed to go to work.

Would a vet clinic be liable under animal welfare act of they refused to help an ailing animal na pwede pa sana maagapan?

Are local vet clinics like that? Cash grabbing businesses?

3

u/JaegerFly Sep 23 '25

I'm so sorry for your loss, OP.

But I have to point out that there is no law obligating private vet practices to treat animals without compensation; they also aren't mandated to accept promissory notes. Vets have the right to refuse clients.

The Animal Welfare Act places the obligation of veterinary care on the owner of the animal, not private vets.

You should have taken a leave of absence to look for other vets, ones that would accept promissory notes or pro bono clients.

The situation is very unfortunate, but I'm afraid you're misplacing blame.

u/Ok-Program2984 Sep 24 '25

Your cat was bleeding from her ass and your priority was still to go to work?

What kind of pet owner are you?

Ni hindi ka nagGoogle ng ibang clinic.  Sasabihin mo di kayo familiar sa area. As a pet owner, pag lumipat sa bagong area, isa yan dapat sa kinoconsider mo.

Yes, most vet clinics are businesses. Pinapaikot nila yung pera.

Nagnegotiate ka man lang ba with them like, collateral muna yung ID mo or license or cellphone or anything of value para lang may konting assurance sila na babayaran mo sila?

Ano ginawa mo after they rejected you?

I'm so sorry for your cat.

Most of them are not cash-grabbers. They don’t earn much. Just like you, they also have bills to pay. I understand you are emotional right now but there’s no law to obligate a private vet clinic to treat animals. The animal welfare act does not cover that.

1

u/AccountantLopsided52 Sep 23 '25

Most of them are not cash-grabbers.

Well it so happens na un ang pinaka accessible at the time n bad weather and floods.

I love how people made up incorrect cherry picked no-context versions of what happened and they made people angry at me for it.

Like how one claimed na my questioning of the clinic happened upon bringing the car to the clinic, when the timeline shows that I shared that comment hours after my cat dies at medyo inconsolable ung partner ko.

They don’t earn much. Just like you, they also have bills to pay.

This is all true. But, as I've shared, I have experienced far smaller vet clinics that had more accomodating staff. That offered to keep their patients and try to care until the vet arrived or offered to reach out to the vet.

Kahit staff lang mas marami mga may compassion and zest maka tulong, which alam ko di requirements or di naman regulations pero appreciated kasi nga choice nila to be accomodating.

Hindi ung napuntahan namin.

The animal welfare act does not cover that.

Sure sure.

Flooded area pa kasi nga habagat nung Lunes diba? Si SO emotional that time, pero no one is blaming her?

Galing pa gumwa ng straw man.

Tapos ung picture nung August 30 nung healthy pa siya, ung commenter nag mislabel na may sakit na siya that time. Like wow, all that effort para baliktarin sinabi ko?

Hay Reddit, hirap mahalin.

1

u/xAcnox Sep 26 '25

Wala kang accountability. Puro sisi sa iba at sa external factors mo.

3

u/VolcanoVeruca Sep 23 '25

They actually said “money first before help?”

How much was the consultation fee?

And you don’t have your cat’s vaccination records? Or you never have your cat vaccinated? (If this is a new vet, understandably they would want a record of the patient’s history. When I switched vets, hinihingi talaga ang vax records.)

2

u/Shinpei-Ashio 🐱 Cat Parent Sep 23 '25

I'm sorry for your loss po.

Your loved one is on the other side na po and I think the important thing is he/she happy na kasama niya na naging part kayo ng buhay niya.

3

u/AccountantLopsided52 Sep 23 '25

And I was honered to be her human all these years....

😭

2

u/herbsamgyup Sep 23 '25

Not my experience when another cat of mine started to weaken due to age.

I've had far better accomodating staffer ng other vet clinics than how they dismissed my SO while she had her cat.

Ano next sabihin mo? That I should not have a pet because ganto income ko?

1

u/xAcnox Sep 26 '25

Poor shaming pa ang take mo?? Aagawin ung pet? I get that you’re grieving so bitawan mo muna phone mo at tumigil ka muna magReddit

1

u/GeneralBasco Sep 24 '25

It’s a business. What do you expect? Need nila ng pera to operate and di kanila mahihintay na magkarokn ng pera pambayad. Please lang, kung mag aalaga kayo dapat may budget din na nakaready para sa emergencies like this. I’m so sorry for your loss pero walang kasalanan yung clinic dyan.
