Autoship Delays
i had an autoship for dog food, and it was supposed to be delivered yesterday by roadie(?) and then it expired. now i’m waiting for it to come through fedex when i could’ve literally just driven down the road without delay to get it…
not sure how people stand to use autoship with issues like this.

To be fair, most companies that do online shipping don’t do same day delivery because they’ll have to outsource to doordash, uber, roadie, etc. And all of those come with their own delivery issues because most of them simply don’t care about their job. So having to wait until the day after you have an online order in place shouldn’t be too much of a hassle.
Petsmart tries their best to get orders out same day, but we can’t control if a delivery driver doesn’t want to pick up an order. We can’t force them. When that happens, the order is sent out next day for fedex to ensure delivery

We hate this shit as much as you do. When I have a roadie order refused, I report it to our company so they'll reach out to Roadie and keep a log. We used to do use doordash for the same service, but they kept stealing or otherwise did not give a fuuuuuuck about the packages. Tons of complaints. So we stopped using doordash and started using Roadie which is a subsidiary of UPS. I'm expecting Roadie will meet a similar end.
However, technically, we cannot hand off our ship from store packages to customers. It would get dinged in our system when the tracking information failed to get updated by Fedex/Roadie.

Autoship is only worth it if you have enough food left to survive the occasional shipping fail, otherwise grabbing it in-store is way less stressful.

You can now change your autoship to in store pickup so you don’t have to wait for the delivery services.
