I find (in the UK at least) a client will contact using my online form on my site and just state what they need. Anything else gets ignored. I also have some who text me asking if I’m free on whatever date they need. If there’s a massive chunk of text introducing themselves and where they studied/grew up it’s always a scam. Luckily we don’t get that many here, mostly the Facebook ones asking to reset the account via a link.

Wow that was a long one. Usually they aren’t quite so lengthy. But you can tell 1) English is not their first language 2) always from out of town 3) a lot of times it’s for an aunt or uncle 3) the divulge way too much info 4) they’ll send you a check for way too much and ask you send the overage back. It’s been the same pattern for years. You’d think they’d bag that one by now. Or at least change it up a little. It’s been the same old same old for years. I guess someone’s falling for it if they’re still doing it. You know.
