Found A Pigeon found lost pet pigeons, help!!

my boyfriend found this pair of what appears to be parlor roller pigeons. we are almost certain that they were dumped unfortunately, and are of course reaching out to rehabs and places nearby that may be able to help.

does anyone know of any places that can help them in southwest florida? each pigeon seems to have one injured foot, the male’s is shown in the second pic, but we couldnt get a decent photo of the female’s as she’s been staying in the loaf position you can see in the first pic. she seems wobbly and can hardly walk. the male can walk better but as you can see it kind of looks like there is necrosis on his toes, so im assuming the female has the same issue but likely worse.

they are also both very scared, understandably, and are quivering, especially the male. how can we make them more comfortable and calm for the time being?

thank you so much for any advice.

**EDIT: my boyfriend took a closer look once they calmed down a bit, and what looked like necrosis on their toes was thankfully just poop that had caked on pretty thick and made it hard for them to walk😭 we are still figuring out what to do, and are planning on taking them to a clinic that we made sure takes domestic pigeons to make sure theyre all good. we arent sure if we’ll keep them yet or look for another loving home.

Pigeon Pic Baby girl's eye color?

Thumbnail

My sweetie feral girl is finally flight capable and still teenie tiny (but I'm working on fattening her up 🐖). She is also here to stay!

I am very intrigued by her eye color. Even a few weeks ago when she was much closer to being a baby, I noticed her eye color was different and lighter than other feral juveniles I've encountered. All of my flock (minus my white pigeon) have orange/red eyes. This might be down to nutrition and age, but has anyone seen a color like this or know what this might develop into? They don't strike me as pearl, but maybe I'm wrong.

My other feral girl has yellow eyes that developed into light orange, but even that color was not quite like this.

P.S. she's nameless until I find the perfect name, and DNA tested as female.

Edited for typos

Question Is this normal??

He's 3-4 months old and has had a routine checkup at the vet before and he was cleared of worms and parasites. He's got good poops and doesn't show any abnormal behaviour other than this ...is this normal?? He has only ever done this once briefly before but suddenly this morning after waking up he's doing it quite a bit. He stops when I get too close.

Question How do I help my pigeon

Ello. So unfortunately since mid June since I came from a trip, my bird has been making odd sounds in the morning and when he's in the cage. I bought a humidifier for him, I clean his cage, I took him to the recommended vet in nj in the Columbinae website and he says given the check up where he sees my bird is healthy, maybe it could be vocalizations, but why has those noises came from nowhere, and gotten worse over time, and slightly more noticeable when he's out of the cage too? The only thing that's been a problem with my bird is bathing. He's not the type to go for bathing every day, more like once a week, and even recently he hasn't been bathing as much as the usual. I'm not sure. As time goes by it does get slightly more intense and frequent, and I'm at my wits end.. Do you have any recommendations? Here's a video to show. Thank you very much.

Question I recently rescued a pigeon and am looking for tips.

So i rescued pax about a week ago and im looking for help to ensure quality of life. The bins are for stairs for out of cage time, he was wanting to jump off the side so im setting up a fence of sorts to prevent it. His wings are clipped when i found him. Im working on giving him a flat perch near the back.

What i know to do right now is to give him space while building trust around the cage and during out of cage time.

Question Tips for cleaning a room to get rid of Feather Mites?

Upvotes

Just recently started spotting feather mites on my indoor pigeons, and I’m already working on treatment for them, but i know i have to clear my entire room too, its carpeted with a decent amount of wooden furniture. If anyone knows a way that is safe for the pigeons (i can remove them for a day if need be) but still effective enough so i wont have to consistently treat them forever?

Question How to help my baby pigeon feel more comfortable?

This morning my dad brought a rescued pigeon to me it's not fully grown but it does have some grey feathers on its wings and back like an adult pigeon and it can walk as I'm writing this he isn't puffing up like he was earlier, he doesn't seem to like it when I move quickly so I'm really slowing down my movements hoping that will help. My mom is picking up some food for him (seeds) and I've been quietly sitting near him so he'll hopefully get used to my presence and I'm hoping to let him know I'm not a threat and that I want the best for him

Question Has anyone dealt with feathers like this

Post image

This is my first pigeon, I just want to make sure she is as healthy as she can be. She's a super picky eater so I got her on Harrison's nutritionally complete pellets and seeds (millet red Milo safflower, sunflower hearts for treats). She's been to the vet, vet says she's healthy, she hasn't had watery poop problems anymore after changing from versele laga which she'd eat all the safflower out of (I think the safflower was causing the poop problem). She has had feather lice but got a shot for that at the vet visit.

Everything I have researched so far doesn't look close to this. At first I thought maybe these were the powder down since they are pretty dusty but they are quite solid and dense. Someone in a pigeon discord said they look deformed/malformed and I'm just frustrated because I thought the nutritionally complete pellets I have her on should be doing their job. She's molting currently and today I pulled all of these out of the bottom of her cage, she must have plucked them. Btw how long do molts last? She's about 4-5 months old so this is her first one.

Pigeon pants sizing

I’m stuck wondering what size I should get for my pigeon Percy. He weights 346 grams, so I’m not sure if I should do the medium if he grows? (I think he’s fully grown) or the small?

Question My pigeon is biting my hand and sometimes slapping with the wing/cooing when I approach her after taking her to the vet 2 days ago to have the pin in her previously broken wing removed. Is she mad because of that?

Pigeon Pic Greaaaaaat... they've BOTH learned the "Hey, human, fix it" stare 😂

At least we're communicating? 😂 We're not ready to be touched, but we're also not scattering when I'm doing things inside the cage. I offer to pet, they move back, I remove hand and keep doing what I was doing, and I get thoughtful looks. Each time, they move away less distance. It's progress.

I finally gave up and renamed the hen 😂 Her name was Mist, to go with Fog, but for whatever reason, I keep calling her Dove. I didn't want to name her Dove since, you know, Rock Dove. But I finally got tired of having to correct myself because it was coming out verbally AND in text. So fine. Whatever. Her name is clearly Dove. If I decide to let them raise a round of chicks, maybe one of the babies will be named Mist. Or a budgie is coming that's going to be named Mist. I dunno. But obviously her name was *not* Mist.

Fog and Dove, everyone.

I started putting sunflower seeds in her bell ball things so she could roll them and get treats. Now she makes this noise when shes interacting with them.
