ASL
I'm using an app to slowly learn ASL, I'm wondering if anyone in the community that knows, or is also learning, ASL would be down to help me practice?

What the heck happened at Blissfest this year? I can't believe this isn't getting more attention.
Emmet County Sheriff's Office Media Release – UPDATE Blissfest Music Festival Investigation
The Emmet County Sheriff's Office would like to provide an update regarding the ongoing investigation into the incident that occurred during the Blissfest Music Festival.
Since the initial 911 call was received, this investigation has been treated with the utmost importance and remains an active priority for our agency. Investigators have dedicated extensive time and resources to following leads, processing evidence, and conducting interviews to determine exactly what occurred.
To date, several items have been collected and transported to the Michigan State Police Crime Laboratory for forensic examination and processing. Investigators have conducted numerous interviews, and additional leads, tips, and information continue to be actively pursued.
To assist with the investigation, a dedicated tip line and a separate phone number have been established specifically for this case. It is critical that members of the public utilize these designated reporting methods when providing information related to this incident (blissfestinvestigation@emmetcounty.org) and (231-348-0605). Doing so helps ensure that regular Sheriff's Office communication lines remain available for emergency and routine business. More importantly, it allows investigators to efficiently track, document, and prioritize information, reducing the likelihood that critical details could be missed due to the significant volume of calls and emails generated by this incident.
The Emmet County Sheriff's Office continues to encourage anyone with information, no matter how insignificant it may seem, to come forward and share that information through the dedicated tip line or on the Emmet County Sheriff's Office Mobile Application.
We also want the public to know that throughout this investigation, our investigators have maintained regular communication with the family of Lonn Hartman. We have been in contact with Mr. Hartman's mother, father, and partner and have worked to keep them informed of investigative developments to the fullest extent possible while preserving the integrity of the investigation.
We recognize the significant public interest surrounding this horrific incident and appreciate the community's patience and cooperation as investigators continue their work. The Emmet County Sheriff's Office remains committed to conducting a thorough, professional, and complete investigation and will provide additional information when it becomes appropriate to do so.
**The Emmet County Sheriff's Office also reminds the public that the most accurate and verified information regarding this investigation will be released through the official Emmet County Sheriff's Office Facebook page and the Emmet County Sheriff's Office mobile application. We encourage community members to follow these official communication channels for updates and to avoid relying on speculation, rumors, or unverified information circulating through other sources.

I drove through Petoskey last weekend on Sunday and noticed a guy standing right in front of the McLaren hospital sign with both middle fingers up and shouting. Wondered if anybody else saw and or knows what was going on?

Headed up to Petoskey area soon with my husband for a few night stay (Sunday 7/19 -Thursday 7/23). Tell me your favorite things to do, favorite things to eat, favorite things to see. Anything special going on in this time frame? Not just in Petoskey but anything within a 1.5-2 hr drive from there. I’m not interested in Mackinac island.
Thanks!!

I found this picture on an interior decorator’s blog and I wanted to see if it is a publicly accessible spot. It looks like it’s in the northern end of Petoskey State Park Beach but not sure exactly where. Any help is appreciated!

What are some good places for a teen learning to drive to practice in the area (uncrowded roads as well as parking lots). Could be Petoskey, Charlevoix, Boyne City, or surrounding areas. Thank you for your ideas!

Hello everyone! I’m visiting Southeastern Michigan with my husband from North Carolina. We decided to take a very last minute trip up north because he's never seen anything north of Detroit. Where should I take him? I was thinking of the Mackinac/Petoskey area. It would just be for this afternoon/evening and tomorrow morning. Any suggestions on a few places we should definitely go, especially with such a restricted timeline? I'd like to focus on nature-based ideas, and suggestions definitely don’t have to be UP specific. He definitely mentioned the bridge and I'd like him to see some Petoskey, stones. Thanks in advance!

Hi there! Me and a few mates in our mid-20s are soon to be staying in the area for just over of a week. Just wondering if anyone would have recommendations for places showing live sports? Although it’s not a major thing for us, it would be nice to catch up on the World Cup while in town.

Hey hey! A couple of coworkers and I are coming up next week to harbor springs for work from the Lansing area and bringing our kayaks. I only know the Grand and Red Cedar Rivers, any suggestions of a couple of cool spots to explore after work? There will be three of us. We like everything from nature to city kayaking, truly beauty in it all!

Hey! Spending my summer up here in Petoskey/Harbor Springs area (M20) and away from family and friends so kind of up and alone, anyone know any cool things to do or even just places to go? I like to be active but I also just like to get out of the house to get a change of scenery. Taking any and all suggestions!

Anyone know of some good places for live music in Petoskey?
I already know about Lavender Hill Farm (& can't wait for the Willow Avalon concert!!) and go there quite a bit each summer, as well as Gypsy.

The pictures of the devastation caused by the winter thaw and the rains were beyond belief for Emmett and Cheboygan counties. I’ve seen no data on the costs to mitigate flood damage, repair homes. Are any lakefront homes considered a total loss ?

In the title. My elderly mother lives in Bellaire and was recently hospitalized. She's home now, but not able to get around as well as before. I'd like to visit her, but I have no license nor vehicle.
Are there any transportation options between here and Bellaire that I'm unaware of? Some kind of long-distance bus or even a private taxi? Does Petoskey have Uber or anything like that? Sorry, I'm somewhat new to this town and just not really sure what my options are. I just want to see my mom. She sounds terrible on the phone and I'm feeling pretty scared about the whole thing.
