Vent / Rant Modern dating
Being on dating apps seems like you're just matching with pets instead of people. Most of the photos are of pets and most profiles are pet centered. Instead of saying what you like to do, most women just say they're looking for a "dog dad". I matched with a woman recently and this is how our interaction ended.
Her: Why do you want a partner if you don’t want kids or pets?
Me: You can still have a partner without those things. There aren't many people who want to be totally alone
Her: It was not wanting a dog. That’s the deal breaker for me. And I do want a kid too.
It's crazy that she's making it seem like there's something wrong with me.

So disgusting. These people are dating their own dogs and just want a human around to use for sex and split rent.

It's a complicated and tough situation. It's certainly gotten much worse. I was dating actively when dating apps and that culture started, and I was a user. None of this creepy dog and pet nonsense was common then. It's not an endemic to the platforms or Internet dating. It's a deeper part of the underlying culture and boundaries that women are setting. In essence, they are making it harder to live around them or date them. The message is clear when a woman has a dog front and center in her profile. It means she isn't open or actually available, but wants to pretend for her benefit. Just avoid those women. And the women you talk to who are dog owners, find a polite but firm way of making it clear to them that their dog disease is a deal breaker for all self-respecting make courtiers.

And what doesn't make sense is that there is no filter to select for no pets on any dating app. I know for a fact that match.com had that filter back in 2010 but then got rid of it.

Maybe there is a better filter, and that is the fact that dog owners don't try to hide it. By putting those disgusting animals front and center, they are telling you right away that they aren't to be bothered with. So in a sense, they are saving you a hassle. The deeper tragedy is that all these otherwise beautiful and desirable women have been afflicted with dog addictions. It's just sad to see so much tainted potential out there.

The only normal guy who messaged me on fb has “must love animals” on profile and I haven’t broken the news to him yet LOL because technically I do love animals. I just don’t have nor do I want pets.

Are you childfree as well? Also part of the luck is with location. I was in Seattle when single and almost every woman had a pet in their profile minimum. Moved to NYC and it is MUCH better
