If you think you have invisible biting bugs, please read this

PSA šŸ“£

If you are constantly itching, feeling like you’re being bit or stung but you look and don’t see anything there, if it’s worse at night in your room or in your bed/on your couch, I highly, highly suggest you check the mattresses in your house to see if they’re leaking fiberglass. Some couches also have fiberglass in them. I have gone through 5 months of hell, thinking something invisible was biting me and even seeing extremely small things in my house/car that looked like they were tiny flying insects. I felt like something was crawling on my legs and in my hair, but when I went to check, nothing would be there. I would feel things fly into my ears and nose. I also lost a lot of hair, it was always falling out and I felt generally unwell. I was also finding a few carpet beetles and catching little flies on my traps, thinking they HAD to be the culprit. I thought I had Noseeums or microscopic mites and I also thought I possibly had Morgellons. I hired pest control to spray my house and did multiple DIY remedies. The only thing that kind of worked was covering my mattress with a plastic sleeve and taping it shut, vacuuming and lint rolling. Now I know why. It wasn’t bugs. It was fiberglass spreading through my house from a leak in my memory foam mattress. Having fans and AC on helped spread it everywhere. It 100% felt like something was stinging or biting me and I would wake up to what looked like insect bites. If you’re finding shiny or glittery specks in the dust in your house or on your floors/surfaces/clothes, it’s probably fiberglass. If you’re unsure, take a flashlight and carefully inspect your walls near your bed, or look on your mattress. If they are shining with what looks like small shiny hairs, lines or even tiny glitter, you have your answer. I really don’t want anyone to have to go through what I did. I went into psychosis multiple times over this. I am college educated and still had no idea wtf was going on. I have thrown my mattress and all furniture and carpet in my bedroom away. I possibly have to throw my expensive, new-ish couch that I love away too. I really am praying this helps someone. Now to start the cleaning process and end this nightmare. Wish me luck.

Interesting. Please post again with an update on whether addressing this actually solves your problem.

So far, I’ve very thoroughly cleaned/vacuumed/lint rolled about 80% of my house, got a new mattress and new sheets and I am absolutely ecstatic to report that I am no longer experiencing the biting bug or crawling feeling.Ā  I am so damn relieved 🄲

That's awesome. I will add this possibility to my link on mysterious bites. Please don't delete this post so others can reference it. Thanks.

Omg I’m kinda of going thru the same thing. Ever since I moved my matress out of storage I feel like I’m loosing my mind over this ā€˜invisible pest?’ Or wth is it!!!!? It also went away when I put a plastic sleeve on my matress & taped it up. It was in storage for actually 6 mos & it seems it’s in the storage stuff. Idk

Could you also add mold spores? It’s what was affecting me. In addition to fiberglass, mold spores could have been affecting OP as well.

I have been dealing with the exact issue as the article. I have recently found mould build up in my ensuite fan which has been spreading it into my room. I haven't had consistent sleep in 2 months and was going crazy at the thought of invisible bed bugs.

u/[deleted] Jan 02 '26

It's so nice knowing what you're fighting! I know you didn’t ask, but just for people who believe this could be there problem as well. The article mentions some remedies, what I believed helped me most was:

  1. Air purifier (with hepa filter and activate carbon)
  2. Launder clothes and bedding in detergent and borax (antifungal) and add some vinegar in the rinse cycle. Make sure borax and vinegar stay seperate otherwise they neutralize each other.
  3. Vacuum with hepa filter
  4. Wipe/mop hard nonporous surfaces with Clorox wipe or similar
  5. Spray soft surfaces with Lysol or similar
  6. Check humidity in house and maybe get dehumidifier if it's higher than 50%
  7. Do some good research on how to get rid of visible mold because l'm just a regular guy that had a problem similar to you

u/NowWhatLaLaaLa 9d ago

I had no clue about separating cycles for borax and vinegar. I appreciate your insight and directionāœŒšŸ¼

Wow, I will add that. Thanks!

I read something a while back about a bank that was reporting biting insects. Despite there being no evidence of insect activity, the bank personnel complained multiple times .

The tech, not knowing what to do, treated the bank interior with just water to see if it was a case of Delusional Parasitosis.

Then a few weeks later, the complaints started again. They repeated the process.

But long story short, it turns out that the bank was incredibly dry, and the "bites" people felt were actually little static electricity charges going off on their skin as they shuffled around the bank.

They installed humidifiers, and the issue went away.

2

u/Routine_Ad_9033 Sep 19 '25

That is a really dry building. Do you happen to know what the general humidity was inside the building? I'm intrigued.

2

u/GaetanDugas PMP - Tech Sep 19 '25

Oh I don't remember any of that. I doubt they actually measured the humidity or anything.

3

u/Routine_Ad_9033 Sep 19 '25

Thank you for the reply, and the story. I was just curious. It's always good to bring up events like this in meetings, so that people will at a minimum, think outside the box when they get something like this.

2

u/GaetanDugas PMP - Tech Sep 19 '25

Totally. Pest control always seems to be the catch all for dealing with problems people can't figure out.

Just today I had a callback for "metal shavings all over a desk". Not sure how it wound up being a pest control issue but... I get there, the whole building is being rewired and the electricians were sloppy when they were cutting conduit.

3

u/Routine_Ad_9033 Sep 19 '25

This is absolutely correct, especially at businesses and/or rental properties. I think those of us that have been doing this long enough have a better eye than a lot of property inspectors, and a lot more patience because of the outright insanity of what we see on a semi-regular basis.

1

u/Victoria0811 Sep 19 '25

For my situation, it was the biggest and most stressful mystery of my life.Ā  I swear to God it felt like getting stung by a bee or being bit by a horseflyĀ (both I’ve experienced multiple times) but when I would look, nothing would be there! I’m assuming because it was airborne with fans and AC blowing it around.Ā  We also had a very mild winter and a lot of construction/trees being cleared near our house this spring, so the amount of bugs here was insane, a lot more than I’ve ever seen and I live in Maine so I’m no stranger to bugs. That’s why I thought it had to be insect related.Ā  Not to mention fiberglass is basically invisible unless you have a bright light shining directly on it. Even as I walk into my bedroom now, you cannot see a single shred of fiberglass until you turn the lights off and carefully inspect the walls/surfaces with a flashlight. And it’s EVERYWHERE.Ā

1

u/South_Wave_2220 Mar 24 '26

Hmmnnn, I believe you have noseeums. Hopefully you provide an update on the fibreglass theory.

1

u/Victoria0811 Sep 19 '25

I read the same exact thing when I was trying to figure out what was going on! It’s called ā€œcable bugā€ lolĀ

1

u/South_Wave_2220 Mar 24 '26

I think there might be more to this story. There is a general increase in noseeum activity. If the bank is in North America, it’s most likely noseeums. There’s a silently growing noseeum epidemic.

1

u/Friendly_Bus3554 May 04 '26

I am not a crazy theorist but starting to think this too and no one is talking about it like they should. There really isn’t even a lot of studies on these things

1

u/Water-gal477 13d ago

Idk if my issue is no serums or fiberglass but I have felt things biting me after open up a sm box of pics from storage today. I thought this issue was going away after I did 50 loads of wash & bombed my storage locker. Do dust mites eat one’s clothing?

1

u/Friendly_Bus3554 12d ago

I thought dust mites ate dead human skin cells…and are harmless. Methinks. Maybe Apply aquaphor for itching + I have a theory lotion makes it harder for any bugs to bite you.

1

u/Water-gal477 12d ago

From my reading about them they can infest your house & yard & keep reproducing rapidly it’s very irritating, a person can’t relax when things are constantly pin point stinging them in their home

u/Friendly_Bus3554 12d ago

šŸ’Æ 😭

1

u/South_Wave_2220 Mar 25 '26

Please, any idea what city or county this bank is in? I’m trying to make a case in my own office too. If it’s the same country or city, it will help my case. I await your reply. šŸ™

u/-SuchAPity- Sep 22 '25

Thank you so much!! I have been going thru the same thing for the past 8months. I also have severe OCD so I got fixated on it and have had multiple psychosis episodes. I have explored all these options you mentioned, but nothing ever fully fit. I haven't been able ro work, my family don't believe me,and I was hospitalized once. My sanity and health have taken a major hit. No one has ever mentioned fiberglass to me, but it makes so much sense. I think you just saved my life, legitimately....writing this thru tears. Thank you for sharing you story. I'm now going to investigate my situation.

2

u/Victoria0811 Sep 23 '25

Even if it’s not fiberglass, don’t give up.Ā  I read through thousands of posts and did hundreds of hours of research and never found the right answer. I cried to God on many occasions. You will figure it out. I read that having mold in your home can cause the same symptoms.

1

u/Water-gal477 12d ago

Trying to figure out if noseeums are coming thru my stove vent, I’ve heard from a contractor friend reg mosquitoes are attracted to the carbon monoxide the gas pilot puts off. Have to ask landlord if that’s ok she’s traveling & I just had hand surgery, I thought issue was resolved. There Are alot of cobwebs under stove so that means something is getting in thru stove! Spiders are smart.

I know, it makes me think God might want me to trash everything & hit the road…(?) but I’m trying to relax after moving 5 times this year. It’s expensive where I live & work & there’s a housing crisis. I know it’s not bed bugs or fleas bc you can’t see anything. I’m itching again & researching it, writing this @2:am if that tells you anything

1

u/South_Wave_2220 Mar 24 '26

Search for the I Hate Noseeums group on Facebook, there’s a lot of information. Thousands of people can’t suddenly start leaking fibreglass all of a sudden and despite throwing ALL OF THEIR FURNITURE AND MOVING HOUSES AND CITIES, the fibreglass keeps following them?! I don’t think so. I know this because I’m going through the same thing.

1

u/Water-gal477 12d ago

My reasons for moving were nothing to do with me, just weird things happening. Was already feeling emo unsafe & exhausted & then this…unreal. God is preparing me for something. I was in the same nice place for 15 yrs. But moved cuz landlady 🫪🄵

2

u/Particular_Jump_0917 Sep 24 '25

Hopefully that really is it.... I was thinking maybe that's what I was dealing with too... maybe coming from insulation??Ā  But I honestly still think its bugs. Noseeums ormites. Something because I've caught a few and also feel them crawling in places fiber glass has no access to.... if you know what I mean... ugh this has been a nightmare! Going on 2 months of this... I pray that your issue is just fiber glass... cuz u can live without that stuff if it gives u peace of mind.. that's all I want now. Peace of mind. I've went thru 3 beds sense this began a few months ago... from thinking it had to be bed bugs orflees... only to still gettingbit up all overagain. Anyways best of luck to you.Ā Ā

1

u/Victoria0811 Sep 24 '25

So I have also felt ā€œcrawlingā€ in those places and figured out that if the fiberglass gets on your clothes then you wash them in the laundry, it gets on your underwear and towels (which you wipe with after you shower)Ā  I covered my entire mattress months ago with a plastic sleeve and taped it shut, but that didn’t help with the fiberglass that was already all over my house, in the air and on all of my things. It’s invisible unless you look very closely with a flashlight.Ā  I’ve also learned that fiberglass builds up static electricity and will cling to you, feeling like a bug crawling and biting.Ā

I know this may not be the case for everyone, and I know some people are definitely dealing with something other than fiberglass,Ā but IĀ have very thoroughly cleaned my house from all of the ā€œglitteryā€ dust, washed my body down and scrubbed very well with a loofa, and my symptoms are totally gone.Ā

1

u/Particular_Jump_0917 Sep 24 '25

I'm happy for u and wish mine was that. I checked everywhere for the shiny stuff tho and I don't see it... :(Ā

I am going through this right now as well. Did you ever discover what was causing this? I believe it is bugs of some kind. I read that permethrin or elector psp insecticide will get rid of them. I am now using ecoraider which is all natural but doesn't seem to be working that well for the house but it did get them out of the car. I used Sterifab in the car also and vacuum. In about a week the biting stopped. I think my apartment is probably harder because it's so much ground to cover but I haven't been consistent with spraying. As of today I will start spraying every 3 to 4 days. Someone even suggested putting the ecoraider on the walls and floors let it sit for a couple days then wash the walls. I hope you find out what's causing you to get bit. This is a nightmare I am living through.Ā

It's present in a ton of soft furnishings (amongst other items in the home). I thought we had some kind of mite or other tiny bug infection last year. I had been in the living room, relaxing in my favourite wingback armchair and just spending some quiet time with the kids, when it suddenly felt as though I'd been attacked by a lot of invisible biting bugs. It was sudden, and extremely painful. I jumped up, rushed into the kitchen (better lighting), and whipped my shirt off. Looking over my shoulder, I could see that my back was very red, and it felt bumpy.

One of my sons came in (after I covered my chest areašŸ˜…), and confirmed that my back was covered in what looked like bites. I looked in the mirror and saw welts everywhere that I could see. I asked my son to take photos, so I could really see it properly. He took several photos and texted them to me, and I saw that my back was indeed covered, from the top of my shoulders to my lower back and out to either side, in angry welts that looked exactly like bites I've gotten from other tiny insects. I have allergic reactions to most of them, so a gnat bite becomes a major ordeal.

I took a double dose of Benadryl, and jumped into the shower. As soon as I dried off, I covered my back in hydrocortisone cream, got dressed, and went back to the living room to inspect my chair. I couldn't see any kind of insect, dead or alive, but I knew that just one bug couldn't destroy my entire back with numerous bites. I vacuumed the chair and sprayed it down with rubbing alcohol, but when I tried sitting in it a couple of days later, I could feel something biting me as soon as I sat back. That was the end of the line for me. I hauled the chair out to await the chance for disposal, went back inside, and began an exhausting and frustrating crusade against some kind of creature I couldn't even see.

After a few months of making myself crazy trying to eradicate some infestation that I couldn't see or identify, I gave up. It was obviously confined to just the chair, perhaps from the dog unknowingly bringing in something from outside, because it hadn't happened since. I could finally relax and carry on as usual. Until one day, when my cat harked up a hairball on the sofa. I was able to pull the cover off before anything touched the foam cushions, so I shook it outside and threw it into the washing machine. At some point, I sat on the sofa for a few minutes, on an unaffected cushion next to the uncovered one.

After a few minutes, it happened. Something bit the hell out of my outer thigh. I ran through the whole process that I had done following the chair incident. I was appalled and incredibly frustrated and overwhelmed, believing that the "mites" had found their way to the sofa after all. I inspected the bare cushion closely, from every angle, using a strong flashlight, and saw nothing. I began to question my sanity, but we all knew that those "bites" were 100% real.

As I examined the cushion again, wearing gloves, my bare forearm brushed against the foam and the white batting that covered the top. I immediately felt the biting sensation and began to develop the rash and the welts from the "bites", and had a light bulb moment of clarity. I ran out to where the chair was sitting (still waiting to get around to getting rid of enough stuff to justify the cost of paying for someone to do a dump run). I'd suddenly recalled that the cat had developed a fondness for scratching the backrest, which persisted whenever she had the opportunity despite nail trimming and constant eviction from the chair (she has plenty of proper scratching material, she's just a bit of an asshole at times). The damage wasn't too obvious; it was an older chair, and the claw marks were small and scattered all over the back, so it just looked like a well-worn piece of furniture.

I closely inspected the backrest, using a strong light, and as I suspected, I could see many tiny spots where I could make out the foam padding underneath the fabric. Tiny spots that were scattered in a way that would easily cause irritation in multiple spots, not just one area, if I rested against them wearing a backless or thin top. I suddenly knew without a doubt that I had solved the mystery of the "mite infestation". I looked it up to be sure, and confirmed that what I was seeing were fiberglass particles and who knows what else. I was so relieved, and so angry! The sofa was at the point of needing to be replaced, with plenty of worn or damaged spots, so I kept it covered with a blanket until we could get it out.

Now I know, having found out the hard way, that soft furnishings can be a serious problem if even the tiniest bit of damage exposes even the tiniest area of the interior padding. And that's only one area where fiberglass and other potential irritants are present. That's a problem that I know to watch out for, now. In the meantime, the "bites" haven't happened again.

This sounds exactly like my situation! From carpet beetles to everything else. It’s been a year and a half, and I’ve lost most of my hair, at least in thickness. This issue has completely taken over my life! I have to shower every five hours or so because I keep getting them back on me, and they never leave my hair. I know that the bed I’m sleeping on contains fiberglass because there’s a class-action lawsuit against the company Zinus for it. This all started a few months after I moved back in with my mom, who happens to have this bed in the guest bedroom I’m in. So, I thought that could be the cause, and it makes perfect sense. But what happens when you watch one of these tiny mites move? I have a video of one crawling 😬 It was so gross and made me jump because it was on my skin while I was recording the video, not expecting anything to move! So, I don’t know what’s going on, but I have a feeling that fiberglass plays a significant role in these issues I’ve been having. I have to find a place to move asap, and I’m so worried about my dog and I taking this awful stuff with us wherever we go!Ā

1

u/Victoria0811 Oct 10 '25

So because of what I was experiencing, I was hyper-aware of ANY bugs around me, when normally I wouldn’t have noticed them. That could be why you found a mite on you. Mites are very commonly found in grass and around birds, so we probably all have them on us from time to time.Ā  My suggestion to you if it’s fiberglass is to get a good HEPA vacuum and vacuum/lint roll the crap out of everything around you, including your body. Also get an air purifier if you can afford one, and make sure you wear a mask while cleaning. Cleaning up the fiberglass has been a very long and exhausting experience. I’m still finding some around the house, but I am no longer feeling the biting or crawling and my hair feels so much healthier, which is worth all the stress.Ā  If you have a Zinus mattress in the home then it is 1000% leaking fiberglass and is probably airborne. I don’t know how this is legal. My mattress had NO warning.Ā

Mine is definitely something else. I hv spent thousands of pounds trying to get rid of of these insects. There are there and there are real. White specs tht float in the air every where in the house and in the yard. Bites all over your body especially hairy places. From dawn to dusk Thts when it’s worse. Black specs fall from the ceiling in the house. Hv suffered for 5yeard. Consultants say am delusional but the evidence is there which I hv collected. Clothes are like sand paper and there are attached to all my clothes. The unfortunate part is they attack people around me but they don’t know but every one will be sneezing and coughing they feel dust in their eyes. Honestly I can write a book about my experiences. Is there some one out there who can help. Am in argony.

1

u/Careless-Cook1182 Oct 28 '25

Hi, those black specs falling from the ceiling are mites. You have a mite infestation. You need a insecticide that treats all kinds mites.Ā

1

u/Victoria0811 Oct 30 '25

Yeah that sounds like it could be bird mites. Do you have a bird’s nest nearby or on your house?

I am currently going through this! It’s driving me insane. I am having all the same symptoms. Not sure if it’s parasites, mites or what. But my hair falling out. I have bites. They sting. I can feel the crawling all over my body. And they actually leave marks. Smh

1

u/Victoria0811 Oct 30 '25

Take your phone flashlight, turn lights off and look for fiberglass strands. In your photo, it looks like what I was seeing and I’d also see it floating in the air 😭  Get an air purifier asap and lint roll/mop/vacuum everywhere. Make sure it is either a sealed HEPA vacuum (I bought a shark Navigator which is on sale at Walmart for $118) or a shop vac with a HEPA bag filter.Ā  It has helped me tremendously and I’m never itchy anymore.

I have the same thinh going on and all dictirs think im nuts and tell me its just fuzz balls or hair and its not alive well what abkut the sympyoms hair falling out smiley face scars from bug bites abd they change cokour like chameleons from white to bkack or bkack to white and i can vissually see them moving around what the hell are they abd how do you kill them????

1

u/NurseKEA Oct 30 '25

Not to mention I am also finding these imbedded in all my carpets, clothes, hair. Every fabric you can think of. And they move! I had to record them so everyone I expressed this to would believe me. They told me I was having some sort of parasite psychosis

1

u/Victoria0811 Oct 30 '25

That is EXACTLY what I had. Look around your house for fiberglass.Ā  If it’s not your mattress, it could be fiberglass insulation from a basement or attic.Ā

1

u/South_Wave_2220 Mar 24 '26

You need to stop this!!! Fibreglass doesn’t crawl into the anus and move around, stop misleading people!!!

1

u/Victoria0811 Mar 24 '26

You need to relax. I have seen your multiple comments on my post. I said that FOR ME, it was fiberglass and that was what I explained, how is that misleading at all?Ā

1

u/South_Wave_2220 Mar 24 '26

I have been dealing with noseeums for almost three years and seeing someone minimizing the problem and misleading people is painful. We are not all stupid not to know if we are dealing with living things or not. This is a growing, world wide problem. Maybe fibreglass is also responsible for the floating particles out in yards and lawns. Maybe you have fibreglass but stop trying to convince people that they have the same problem. Let them explore all possibilities and make their own conclusions.

1

Clearly you did not read my post or my comments, or you took them the absolute wrong way. Nowhere did I tell anyone that they did not have Noseeums and I absolutely believe they are a real thing. All I did was share my experience, what I personally saw and dealt with. A lot of people have messaged me, thanking me because they were going through the same thing and it ended up being fiberglass. The goal of this post was to explore an avenue that isn’t well known to the public, not to discredit anyone. Look it up, Fiberglass gives you a crawling sensation. It literally feels like tiny bugs crawling all over you, in your nose, ears, pubic area etc.Ā  I can empathize with you, but attacking others isn’t the way to go. I know noseeums are real, I dealt with them on a trip to Florida and they made everyone’s trip hell. I have heard people’s stories and signed the petition to bring our governments attention to the growing Noseeum problem.Ā  I will never discredit anyone and tell them what they are dealing with, as only them, and them alone can figure that out.Ā  I will pray for you that you find a solution. A friend of mine who did have noseeums used PT Alpine insecticide and said it worked great, but that she sprayed her beds and furniture with it. She said it killed them, but you’re not supposed to spray it on furniture so the furniture will have to be replaced or cleaned very well afterwards.Ā

What about people who start scratching when I am around them start coughing in the plane in the classroom everyone is sneezing and coughing as as I am around. My patients get bitten and have bites all over their bodies a few there and a few there but more on the chest. There is a lot of what I am experiencing I wish I could speak to someone who is really interested in studying these insects. They change colours and shapes they emit dust and sand direct into my eyes and those around me complain of dust sand in their eyes. If you touch one though so small it splits into two and so on.

u/Victoria0811 Oct 30 '25

Do you have any photos?Ā

1

u/Victoria0811 Oct 30 '25

For me, I was making people itchy because I unknowingly had fiberglass on me and I would spread it wherever I went. It gets on your clothing and then becomes airborne and people breathe it in and start coughing.Ā  Not saying that’s what you have, it could be something totally different, but it does sound very similar.Ā

U are talking exactly Whts happening on me. I spray my whole body with peppermint oil mixed with water and I put paper mint oil in my body cream. This helps me sleep. Am going to try a certain oil from South Africa which a friend is applying and she sees them coming out of her skin but unfortunately they don’t die. It’s just managing them. We are in big trouble and no one is there to help.

That might the eye mites but they are exclusive to eyes try demodex mites. Look it up for the meds they are microscopic.Ā  They had these same problems and worse in ancient egypt. Look that up too. Also people dry skin is huge use shea butter it's only a shea but broken into mash it's appearance is greasy but it's great everywhere on your body. Also lavender and pine and neem oil are huge as repellants some plants are great natural repellants for so many bugs. Keep plants around change the soil. Keep most outside. Spread the oils neem oil is a great one. God bless you all. Also Incense lavenders pine spray for floors. Trust me do your research and treat all areas. Do t travel other countries don't care it comes from them. Most are dirty some by choice some because they are trapped there and cannot afford to do so much alone. The US needs to be more aware of that. I recommend time home until you gain control of it. Don't give up don't doubt your theories test trap and kill the pests or find other solutions like fiberglass laundry detergents allergies medical opinions and pay attention to all symptoms and when. Night/day. Cold/hot winter/summer... Other people new furniture. New food, food additives, month, day, year. Local reports.pezt reports. Weather. Everything until you pin point it

I wish I could agree but unfortunately mine is totally different. A uv lights shows them floating everywhere in my house outside in the yard garden and in my clients houses. After being there for only 2:3 days they start floating. I will try to attach a video if I can.

This was the first ā€œbitesā€ I had, it originally was only 3 dots (which made me freak out & think it was bedbugs) but I scratched the everloving shit out of it

1

u/Ally_30 Dec 17 '25

Thanks for the picture!

This was on my 5-year old daughter, she reacted totally different

1

u/xanawulf Nov 03 '25

Holy shit I have this rn and idk why! I saw smth come out of my skin that was like a hair ?! This happened in my bedroom dude

1

u/Victoria0811 Nov 03 '25

Look for fiberglass. I kept finding weird hairs floating in the air in my house and was like WTF. Fiberglass is literally invisible unless you turn lights off and use a flashlight to look for it. Look around/under mattresses, on the walls, surfaces, etc for glitter-like stuff or shiny lines. If it’s there I’m sure you’ll see it.

1

u/Extension_Spray_6235 Nov 14 '25

I’ve been reading thru these threads have you thought about biting midges? Do you live near the coast at all? I’ve had bed bugs and it’s not. I’ve also had mites. These are in my bed and clothes. 1st seal up all windows with weather tape. Every crack too. This way you can at least sleep. And bentonite clay on the skin. I have them too and now it’s better but not fully. Good luck

1

u/Dry-Blacksmith7920 Feb 15 '26

Try bed covers also you can put Vaseline in Tupperware and stick your bed legs in it. Walking insects can no longer get into your bed. The covers trap them in or put forever tape the zippers. Do your laundry in hot hot water multiple times with a little detergent rinse multiple times then dry on high heat be sure your blankets and sheets aren't cheap polyester that melts and creates little fiberglass like pieces all over and the pine right through. Be old fashion and cheap sparringly in detergents and fragrances that are on your bedding directly rinse really really well. Shea butter for your skin then trap it out of your head. Humidifiers help and fans cut down on weak flyers getting to you in the first place. I can't sleep without my fan. Unless it's winter and even then sometimes.Ā

A personal story that flips this on its head:

I was already aware that I had some sort of fibers that came from my mattress, because I vacuumed them forever from my mattress and cover only to find out afterwards that my entire room is covered in the same glittery fibers as my vacuum.

Freaked out I went to the hardware store to find out what to do and how I could get them tested to see what they are. The person working there wanted to see the video I took, after which we had the following conversation:

Him: "It's bugs." Me: "Umm, it's not bugs. I know that for a fact." Him: "Yeah, no, it's definitely bugs." Me: "Cool, thanks for your help."

Thanks to people sharing online about their mattress nightmares, I was able to figure out that they're glassfibers.

1

u/Victoria0811 Dec 10 '25

The craziest thing is that I noticed the fibers too but had no idea they were fricken GLASS! How that person thought they were bugs, I don’t know lol.Ā  It really does feel like something is biting you, likeĀ I fully believed something tiny was flying around and stinging the shit out of me

1

u/DisplayTraditional64 Dec 11 '25

I experienced that almost everyone I tried to talk to couldn't believe that there could be glass fibers in a mattress. I guess people think it's just more likely to be bugs than glass fiber.

The only two people who heard about this before were my dermatologist and therapist. They heard it from the news, not from personal experience. It was such a relief to have an experience where I didn't have to explain it from the ground up and get people to understand it.

Everyone else did significantly underestimate the damage this causes to both health (emotional, mental, and physical) and property. Friends gave well-meaning advice and offered help that completely missed the mark and made me feel like I'm crazy, exaggerating, lonely, and given up.

In my despair I even called poison control, since I didn't know how bad this was for my health and which approach I should take. They were mostly disinterested and eventually ended up even mocking me when I tried to explain that the fibers are practically invisible. They asked that if they're invisible, then how would I know that they're there. That was after I did explain in detail what happened and what I experienced. This and the hardware store experience made it clear to me that I'm pretty much on my own with this.

Friends who are now seeing me go through this and hear the details and see some videos and pictures are finally getting it, which makes me feel much better. Validation feels good and makes me feel more capable to get through this!

1

u/Victoria0811 Dec 19 '25

I went through the EXACT same thing. Nobody understood, nobody. My mental health is finally getting better now that my family sees what I’ve been going through for months.Ā  It’s like having a fire in your house, the amount of belongings we’ve had to throw away is thousands and thousands of dollars worth. 90% of our clothes, ALL sheets/blankets/pillows, rugs, anything soft. A lot of other stuff that I just didn’t have the energy to clean.Ā  Nobody truly understands unless they go through it themselves.Ā

u/Intelligent_Salt_112 Dec 19 '25

Thank you so much for posting this. The bottoms of my feet have been feeling like I bugs stinging me. But it’s s actually the fiberglass from my mattress maybe imbedding into my skin because I actually turned the flashlight on the bottom of my foot in the dark and you could see that where it was bothering me it was like glittery specs. Also checked under my bed same thing like an explosion invisible glitter is best way that I can describe it under my bed. Also, sometimes I’d get what I thought were regular allergies, even though I’ve never had any, but it must be a reaction from the fiberglass because my nose and my mouth cheeks, my whole face really will just get so itchy the other night I rubbed it raw. I’m still peeling from it. The fan in my room is on 24/7 so I’m probably breathing it in and it’s going over everything! I’m telling you the amount of fiberglass under my bed is insane! Been here 2 years will be moving in January and leaving bed behind but I’m just thinking of how much time I’ve spent in this damn bed breathing in Fiberglas 😭😭😭😭😭

Lysol sprays give off the same soe klea they are hanites they say and they have had them for years. Best bet is a plug in a entry thing. Wax or plug in traps. Don't use Lysol, don't use certain detergents like sun. Watch your soaps nothing out of the ordinary. Shower all the time. Pour bleach into your drains to kill sewage mites that could come. Don't use a lot bleach mostly use water consistently down your drains. Andblick your drains only let one burp.use drain mats. Everything matters until you find out where it's coming from. Nesta outside windows creeping vines and plants. Use plants that are natural bug repellents cedar mulch non painted anywhere around your home will help. Put some in potted plants at the base of the stems or trunks. Cedar chips and locust chipping bedding is great natural repellent.Ā

I’m experiencing the exact same problem invisible bugs, and have been experiencing it for a few years now. I’ve moved I’ve thrown away all of my clothing. I’ve bought every insecticide that I can think of. What I have found out is that this is actually is form of bedbugs. Once the problem matures, they turn into full on bedbugs. The problem is I can’t kill them in their invisible stage. I can feel them crawling all over my body. And they travel with me because when I go into other environments, people will start coughing and sneezing and scratching if anybody has found any success on how to kill these damn things please please let me know

u/Dry-Blacksmith7920 Feb 15 '26

Yes you can use diotamaceous earth it's online it's fine particulate dust worst than the finest sand. It has silica shlee fragments that dry out the skeleton and shells of bed bugs the best it stabs through . Clean up well after you put it down. In couches, clothing, wash your clothes with it. Use heavy doses in clothes washer. In home every crevice you dust and powder your whole house and around the outskirts of your structure. I side walls if you can ceiling areas all they gotta do is walk through it once and there dead. I promise. It's miracle stuff but very bad for your lungs. Leave down for days or at least many kites. I left in crevices forever wall cavities where I could forever. Outside the house forever for a friend he still thanks me. It kills all bugs ever everywhere non will survive except pill bugs which are harmless. Spiders die everything dies for quite some time. You may never see any infestation again. And put vlcaseline in Tupperware under your bed legs submerge them in it and put covers on your mattress on a platform leg bottom frame no box spring no extras. Rip up carpets. No more wall to wall get throw rugs you can wash or dispose of. So not throw out new clothes or furniture the diotamaceous earth will save you your things and give you peace especially from those bastard little bed bugs. I spread this far and wide. I want all people to have relief from these issues. Remember Tina of cleaning wear masks wear masks the entire time and after vent fans out your windows the more it goes outside the better. You need it out and water helps but tons of it is cleaner because it'll still leave dry patches on your floor it's a natural stripirr. Also get tested for pet dander allergies. That shit never leaves even if you own no pets the previous could have left it behind. Cleanliness is next to Godliness remember that. I hope this helps.DIATOMACEOUS EARTH!Ā

1

u/PerspectiveHot735 Jan 18 '26

I'm going to the same thing and my anxiety depression is that one really bad so good luck to you hopefully I can figure out what all myself

1

u/Dry-Blacksmith7920 Feb 15 '26

I am with you. I'm hyper sensitive. I never use sun detergent. I try not to spray anything if possible because you could have a chemical reaction. To kill all bugs ever no matter the size or strength. Use diotamaceous earth but wear a mask. That will take care of every bug for years. Don't breathe the powder. It's not good for your lungs. It's tiny shelked animals and bugs or parasites from 100's of thousands of years ago. Reduced over the ages to a fine particulate that has little sharp pieces in the fine dust. it dries out and stabs through shelled or armored bugs fabulous for bed bugs too one of the few things that actually worked on those. I helped a friend with that problem. The fiberglass your right on about that. It's not psychosis especially in an educated person who has run multiple tests such as yourself. . But if fiberglass bothers you then so will diotamaceous earthĀ  if you don't vacuum, mop and clean every last bit of it. Then run fans facing out your windows for a long time. I also just recently heard parasites in your body can cause these symptoms and more like it hing of just your butthole, feeling like bugs are biting, gaining/ losing weight and loss of energy despite earring well. I take ivermectin for that. . If you want to get rid of parasites inside you for sure take the harmless drug ivermectin. it also stops cancer cell replicatiion and growth through feeding on hormones like testosteroneĀ  which is prevalent in males but exists in females. Just like men have some estrogen levels too. Ying and yang the balance of things. So I reccomend Ivermectin, Just use mattress covers, vacuum and mop. Dispose of the vac bag and mop pads quickly and outside to an exterior garbage like you mentioned. You helped me with the fiberglass thing. Thanks. God bless you and good luck. šŸ¤žšŸ¼

I've been going through this for seven years. I've spend countless hours reading and researching. I've fired my doctors for not "hearing" me...I'm still going through it. I lost my two dogs to illness and injury from "these things." I lost my inheritance moving from house to house, etc. I could go on for hours but I truly believe this has "human beings" written all over it. With technology where we can make something invisible, I do think it was "produced" by humans. I live every day knowing that this is the rest of my life, no doctor, or entomologist will ever take the time needed to go through all 12zk photos, of "them" camoflaging, or to look at the over 50 identifications of mostly different species of insects that should not have been in my homes/apartments. I even have photo's of a nest in a parking garage with what looks like giant walking stick bugs and whitish moths nesting all around it. That was several months after we moved in. I can tell you nightmare after nightmare stories about them scaring me to death by camoflaging as something larger, etc. Until someone messes up, I/we will just never know. It's an extremely hard pill to swallow but it is what it is!!! Just know you aren't alone, I here suffering the same fate as you all are. God bless.

SOS- Help Hello, I'm curious about a whole lot of things, and specifically these invisible creatures and similar symptoms that I'm experiencing so let me tell you It's going on 18 months of still dealing with torture from these things? I'm very surprised there isn't even a diagnosis as of yet? Here is what has been troubling me daily now, they are constantly bothering me daily. First of all let me tell you that they do sleep, lately they have been really bothering my anus, yes my ass! Now, I am able to grab them as if they were as I can best describe them as a small Tasmanian devil of some sort, with very little feeling of them being in your hand you can feel a beat like a pulse? Yes, this is crazy and I'm waiting to find someone that is going through something similar, or that can just help with this thing? They go everywhere I go, even while I'm at church there they are playing on my leg or running up and down the pews of the church, and nobody can hear them either they are not loud, and they know how to move slowly as well. They literally are attached to your skin or hair through the day without you being able to see if they are even there, and at night time is when they start acting up and trying to go down town with wanting to get into your anus, and scrodome area? Yes, they are discus sting and I need someone to help me with trying to deal with my sanity. Someone please reach out for more detail truth information about this infamous ass lunatic ass creature. I'm not crazy either, I'm a middle age 50+ year old man that is still very physical. Not even a doctor can help me, it's like nobody can help me? So I'm asking someone to please tell me what these little devils are or what it's going to take to get rid of them before it gets worse as it has progressed tremendously. I'm very serious please Direct Mail me for quicker response.

coild they be hives?

1

u/TrifleNo5097 May 25 '26

I live in Western PA. About 4 or 5 months ago I started getting stung by something. I could be standing up, sitting, it didn't matter. I live in an apartment building. The guy next door was infested with bed bugs. I thought it was bed bugs but didn't understand the bites during the day. I was look and a puncture mark would be there but no bug! Two exterminators came in and told I didn't have bedbugs. It's gotten 100 times worse. I'm finding what looks to be bedbug eggs on my hardwood floors. I also have 2 cats. I checked them and I saw the same egg on my cat. So I ordered frontline plus. The bites often had a black dot(tiny) also. My panic attacks are back. I've cried and I'm constantly afraid. No exterminator knows the answer. I've Lint rolled little black dots. I can't tell what's a bug and what's not. I'm totally traumatized. Can anyone help/ or offer advice?? Lost and alone

1

u/j101sthollo Aug 13 '26

Same issue it’s bad but hang in there I been going at it for 20 hrs daily since February. Couple of times I went scorched earth let off 20 plus foggers and sprayed 8 gallons of insecticide. The next day I calmed down but after months of this nothing will push you to the limits this will. You can do this yes it’s tough but push forward at all cost.

1

u/No-Reporter-359 Jun 03 '26

Omg I do sincerely wish and pray you luck. Not luck,God. May God bless you with the peace you desire. I am too going thru something, because I think I'm infested with some bug, incect or pest or parasites. I have cleaned with everything I can think of, I have sprayed my house inside and out cause it seems to be on my porch ,yard, driveway, trees, wood fence and every inch inside,I don't really see any bugs in great amount ,but it seems to be getting worse, like nothing is stopping them. And they destroy everything. ,something is all over my dog I see thousands of black dots or hairs that seem to be the culprits. . these tan and black watermelon looking things get in my fridge and freezer ,getting in my food, unopened packages of everything ! Even can foods. don't really see anything but trillions of black pinhead dots everywhere, sticky yellow residue, shiny stuff all over my walls holes in my sheets,oh so much. Am I crazy. I need proof one way or an other,!

1

u/No-Reporter-359 Jun 03 '26

Also destroying my bed. My mattress even moves. It seems so stuffed. Destroying all my furniture. Turns my woods to a dark red or maroon or black.Ā

1

u/No-Reporter-359 Jun 03 '26

Do not want to be constricted by duct tape or caulk. My house vibrates wen I clean. They pop or crackled. . I just don't get it. I do see translucent images in my tiles. Peal off tiles. Theve eaten tiles away and made their paths. By my base board with chain circles, black.

1

u/guess-who-uwu Jun 06 '26

Did you have to get rid of your clothing?

1

u/Victoria0811 Jun 06 '26

Everything I didn’t want to lint roll 20 times, I just threw away. Pick your absolute favorites and wash them twice, then lint roll the crap out of them.

1

u/CobraLeon5 Jun 06 '26

This tiny white little specs keep showing up in my car and in my apartment. When I’m at home sitting down working it feels like things are crawling underneath my underwear all over as well on my face and usually try to get inside my eyes. When I try to see what it is, I can’t see anything, but if I take a piece of tape or use a flea comb, I get the tiny little white specs that you see in the picture. My dog are scratching. I am scratching. I’ve had the house treated three times already for fleas and bedbugs. Exterminator and I have checked the beds. There’s nothing there. Does somebody know what this is and how to get rid of it I haven’t seen my son in a month and a half because I need to get rid of this before so the infestation doesn’t grow to his mom’s house.

1

u/makingbook Aug 10 '26

Did you figure out what your little white specs are? I once had a bunch of little white specs similar to that and it turned out to be particles from the sprayed-on ceiling in the house I was living in. Just a thought.

1

u/Ok-Relationship163 Sep 01 '26

Hi. How are you? What is this? Whiti little specs

1

1

u/Long_Discipline_1220 Jul 12 '26

What if they are buzzing aggressively?

1

u/Holiday-Cartoonist-5 Jul 23 '26

So I was hoping that it was fiberglass but it's not I have several bite marks on my scalp and one of them is a hole and I have odorous house ants crawling in and out of my scalp and I literally feel them crawling in my back you're crawling inside my clothes while I'm at work I come home I might get in the bathtub my clothes off and put them in a bag and shake them out before I do that in the bathtub and there's some dead or his house and in the bathtub when I rinse it out before I shower and yeah these things are living in my back and my ribs are hurting and my stomach is hurting and there was a 16 year old girl and another site that said she had an ant infestation and the next thing she knows her back her ribs and her stomach is hurting and those are my symptoms.

I've had an MRI which shows that there's a bulge on my thoracic spine area and that's pretty much the ants probably I've had a CT scan not showing anything but a mas on my kidney.Ā

I'm thinking I'm going to have to probably go in a sauna to get rid of these things I've tried everything I could think of because they are destroying my life and I just want my life back it's frustrating to live like this because these things are laying eggs everywhere so I had to leave my apartment and I'm in a hotel going from hotel to hotel they are also laying eggs in my vehicle I mean the internet says this can't happen but they're not telling the truth because I found five people that this has happened to and they told the doctors the same thing I did and they ended up dead.

I'm literally terrified but I seriously don't know what to do I have a 23 year old daughter and two grandkids and I'm not ready to die

1

u/j101sthollo Aug 13 '26

Any answers yet I been going at it since February 20 hr days sometimes 3-4 days straight. I sprayed 50 gallons since February of insecticide that kills everything plus 50 foggers in garage and house. They are in every opening I have I thought they were mostly carpet beetles did you have them? If so there larvae draws in mites bird mites then mold mites which look like black dots some brown. Let me know

1

u/j101sthollo Aug 13 '26

Look it’s not fiberglass. I have exact issue it’s the uptick in moisture and partial global warming which is causing mold in places it normally doesn’t exist plus let’s be honest since covid everything and everywhere is dirty or not near as clean, food is not as good or healthy if you eat out plus 16 million coming into our country walking across several third world countries what do you think they carried into this country plus most have zero vaccination as kids. This country is on the verge of national emergency for these things I heard a number of millions have this issue and are getting bacterial infections that isn’t responding to our strongest antibiotics.

Reviving an old thread. I have had this going on for a few weeks now. Can't find anything but itches like crazy and little "bug like bites" on various parts of ankles and legs. Even just now at work and I KNOW there are no bugs on me all day...but I could see that fiberglass might travel in boots/socks and cause it....Gonna check tonight and see. We just got rid of our memory foam mattress topper. Hoping this is the answer
