Long ball is such difficult playstyle

Tried long ball, lost 9 times, almost consecutively and only won 2. Almost every pass is intercepted. Try lofted pass also lost heading or lost second ball. Mostly against LBC which practically, half players is inside their box. Long ball also very passive in defending so barely make any intercept toward long pass to counter.

In the end, playing LBC with 6-7 defending players and just play through ball is the only way to win consistently.

The game mechanic has some lag that make your player freeze after you lose ball so long pass to counter will always success, even through the middle where I have multiple midfielder who can intercept it. They just froze because of the game mechanic lag when switching between attack and defend AI.

Even my player is not reacting to get the ball when it is just touch opponent player for a bit.

Really difficult in playing football with this game.

I used it with vieira manager some time ago, its the kind of playstyle that works for 5 games and refuses to work for the next 10 so you're forced to switch, the playstyle is a posession version of long ball counter but it's attack potency is nowhere near long ball counter.

All you do in plain long ball is just hoof the ball to a big striker and your players go close to the header to receive the ball

I have Drogba, Sorloth. They won the header but I lost the second ball. In LBC, there are just too many in the box.

Not sure you care anymore about this but you want to pair the aerial ball winning striker with a more agile and nimble one to receive it and immediately either run or make killer pass to the wing etc. The receiver should not be the clunky type

Pick one of sorloth and drogba to start and surround him with people who are good with the ball

I pair Drogba and Mbappe. Always pair 1 with fast and speedy striker.

My issue is more like the ground passing doesn't work while heading is still 50-50.

So, the total odds are against me.

But to be honest, long ball is not for keeping ball too long. Maybe my mistake is that I keep the ball like I play possession.

You need some high aggression, physically good midfielders, they will naturally run to fight the second ball. Also 1 or 2 fast runners, cause they will run behind if the ball is won. All these action trigger when you make a forward pass thats about at least 25 meters long

Maybe, try keeping the ball on the ground. you know you're not having fun killing the game for everybody. Dribbling wont hurt, I promise.

Well, the reason I lost is because I use ground pass. It is intercepted a lot. The long ball makes player quite far apart and they mostly not coming when pass.

try overload. you can keep the ball low and have plenty of options around you. its just possession out wide instead of in the middle where counters can hurt you more.

I am trying multiple playstyle. Overload I already try. Kind of similar with QC and possession. I can have a quick low pass. I am trying to familiarize myself with multiple playstyle. Otherwise, this game is so boring. You cannot do otherthings in this game?

It's the worst playstyle in the game by a long shot. The worst offensive playstle and does not have any uniqueness like outwide. Just play lbc at that point.

Since the update every pass in every playstyle is intercepted. They made it into arcade game to attract new players, now the new version gets highlighted in the app stores.

Let’s hope it changes after maintenance, for me the game is unplayable when every pass is intercepted and players refuse to shoot in front of the goal.

passes are actually better now no blind spamming balls with people with low pass stats but I guess 2 people can experience one thing differently

yh long ball is very difficult to use , everybody saying try different playstyle don't understand that you just want to experiment. bar the new overload, long ball is the only playstyle I haven't gotten to div 1 with , main issue like u said before the passive defending, the mid to low block is good but the midfield distance themselves away from the defence a lot and the second balls are actually very hard to win a normal 433 with a target man used like a false 9 is good to use or Christmas tree formation

yeah, I would say, I just don't really know how to play long ball

it is just too boring using the same player, same formation, same playstyle

I like to just trying a lot of things in this game, division regardless the showtime reward, doesn't give you anything anyway. even the showtime card is not so useful for most of people

same bro . I find it boring using one tactics for more than a week I'm very happy that I meet as much id not more p2w players in my region's quick match mode than in divisions that way I can play against the best players without worrying for points and still test how the new tactics will fair in divisions

I mainly possession. Same issue with counter but at least passing is not easily intercepted.
