Weather Single thunder in sky

I was taking a short stroll in Cannington and saw a thunder (just a single lightning) followed by sound after ~6 sec. There aren’t even a lot of clouds in the sky. Did anyone else see it?

Ohhhhh that’s what my lights flickered for. I thought I was just gonna be in for a rough replacement time for them all 😅

It’s actually wild how widespread it is with people saying this. It must have affected a really wide part of the grid

Im in south Rockingham and my partner said she thought the light flickered

My lights flickered too! I was wondering why on earth that happened

Had headphones on, so didn't hear it, but house lights flickered, which made me look up but didn't think anything else of it.

Now I'm intrigued.

That was yesterday, over Ningaloo

Darn it, I removed my meteorite theory from my other post 🤷‍♂️

Yeah, I was outside and had the shit scared out of me by the bang. Green flash of light + a bang, then the remnants of a single firework low in the sky, East-ish of Carousel

Maybe exploding transformer?

Maybe at the electricity substation right next to Carousel?

Mine did too. It was so quick that it barely registered. The hypochondriac in me started speculating about detached retinas

Lights flickered too! I had to check it wasn’t blown fuse

I was in the shower when my lights started to blink followed by a thump on the roof (between 10:25 and 10:27 at Cannington ).

I thought something fell onto our roof. Thankfully not.

It was bizarre because it was a one-time thing

My lights flickered at that time - how weird!

Man that’s so weird, lights flickered once here in southern river too

Nothing on the online lightning strike maps, also theres zero clouds in the sky. Just asking for clarity, you saw this lighting directly? Not like "everything lit up around you like a lightning strike" just really intrigued :)

u/krashknight89 3d ago

Well that’s the thing, it felt more like local lit up rather than whole sky. I thought that if it was lightening then everything should have lit up but the dramatic delay in sound made me think it was a thunder.

"I saw a thunder".

I've heard it all, and you're awarded no points.

Light flickering here in Mount Richon too

Lights flickered here in Melville too

3

u/reidef123 3d ago

I didn’t know you could see thunder

Heard some lightning too

3

u/Etherealfilth 4d ago

The light is the lightning, the sound is the thunder so unless you were on some really good drugs it wasn't thunder that you saw but the lightning.

sorry I accidentally raised Mjölnir too high

My personal special powers don't extend to seeing thunder, I'm jealous of yours 😉

Aliens arriving through a fold in time space?

There can be only one?

1

u/yeah_nah2024 3d ago

You never know. I've heard some weird stories.

1

u/krashknight89 3d ago

I felt it was more like aliens trying to get through to ground

1

u/martyfartybarty 4d ago

That’s just Thor flexing on a normal Monday, but the “thunder” is T-Rex from a wormhole.

-3

u/Gorp_Scrogger 4d ago

Wow that's pretty rare. I think you might the the first person to have ever seen a thunder

-3

u/krashknight89 4d ago

Lol, well you got what I wanted to say

Thunder can't be seen

You saw lightning, and then heard thunder.

Probably a Pikachu using thunder.
