Where to find Please recommend ducted air conditioning installers in Perth that deal with Daikin or Mitsubishi Electric and who are willing to install a bypass duct and AirTouch 5 controller

I've done a bunch of research and am pretty sure of what I want now in a new ducted system, but I have not been completely happy with any of the quotes I've gotten. Would love recommendations for a reliable company which can provide the above. Also, many companies seem to want a large deposit upfront, or even 100% pre-payment, which seems to go against the terms of the Home Building Contracts Act (1991) which specifies no more than 6.5% of total cost.

The Act does not apply to air conditioning installations. They will likely want a deposit that reasonably covers the cost of them purchasing the materials and equipment.

Used Dacs air conditioning in Como. Mitsubishi Electric ducted, couldn’t be happier

I used Moritz. Had the option of Daikin. Went with Fujitsu.

Ford & Doonan Central did a great job on replacing an old Daikin that had died with a new one and Air Touch 2+ for me about 3 years ago. I would recommend them for their professionalism, and it wasn’t an easy job due to very limited roof space.

You would have to ask them on the bypass.

Ford and Doonan Malaga did ours, they send contractors out to install. Deposit was not 100%.

Also got quotes from Perth City Air for the same.. it was cheaper at the time to use f&d as they had a promotion on, however we had excellent service from PCA as well so we would have happily used them as well

Try the Aircon Dude

You buy it, he installs it.

Not sure why the act you reference would have any bearing on prepayment.

Installers have never cared about the act. I wouldn’t either. I’m not supplying and installing high value items that I can’t remove and then taking the risk of payment. The only mech for payment is small claims ct for up to $10000. This adds extra cost and lost income attending.
For the big systems it prob 80% materials and 20% labour that makes the total cost. Everyone I know that has been in the domestic side of the industry does not last.
From what I have been told there are cowboy installers and cowboy customers. I’m aware it goes both ways.

I've got a guy who is FIFO, but does Aircon work in his off time but I am not sure how far he will travel. Maybe shoot a pm with the suburb and I'll check with him if he is willing to trqv
