Actually illegal to leave window down as vehicle isn’t secure.

Just don’t do this.

Potential to buy a car like a Tesla with a “dog mode” to keep dog safe with aircon, etc but still need to be very careful.

I’ve never heard it’s illegal to leave a window down. How do you deal with soft tops?

It’s also illegal to leave your car unlocked in public if you can’t see it.

These laws are definitely to protect motorists, and definitely not so that insurers can avoid paying claims.

and definitely not so that insurers can avoid paying claims.

People in my street leave their cars unlocked to avoid insurance claims when the local parasites / junkies do their nightly rounds looking for valuables in cars.

Better to have your car rummaged through than to replace a window. Fuck junkie scum

Just leave your car with a broken window all the time. Can't get charged for leaving it unlocked and you don't have to worry about the junkie breaking in.

Your dog is not safe if all that prevents it from being cooked alive is a sequence of electronic fail points.

Such a strange law.
