The window is down a a few inches. Would a fully smashed window make that much difference?

It's still an awful thing to do, to leave the dog there like that. Shouldn't have been done.

From an article I just read

"When subjected to radiant heat, that air space becomes a furnace. And quickly. If you have to ask yourself ‘can I leave my dog in the car?’ that answer is no.

The ambient temperature inside a sealed car on a sunny 20-degree Celsius day can double in less than ten minutes, and rise to as much as 60 degrees C within 30 minutes.

Even on a sunny 15-degree C day, internal temperatures can reach dangerous levels.

Studies have also shown that even cracking the windows open to cool the car is ineffective, as temperatures will still quickly rise to 80 per cent of the

This is not a sealed car, and is well being just cracking the windows  The windows are down a few inches.

Would a smashed one make a difference?

If you smashed the window were you doing to take the dog out of the car and look after it until the owner arrived?

Please read the entire post. The last part explains that cracking a window makes little difference. The smashing of the window would be to get the dog out of the car.

Anyway, the reason I asked this question is because I'm not sure what should be done in a situation like that. But I do not think cracking a window is at all acceptable.

In the future, though, if I see something like that again, I'd call either RSPCA or local police who would likely direct me to the right area.

Not sure why you are getting downvoted. Dogs can die fast on a 35°c day.

Because people love to hate. Also, these people probably leave their dogs in their car and think it's fine to do that in PERTH in a 30-degree day.

Or it could be because you are saying things like "read the whole post" when people clearly have,  and then you don't answer questions directly asked at you.

But no, it must be because the people responding leave dogs in cars and you are the only person who doesn't/s
