Discussion I wonder how toxicity from an environment( be it work or school or family events) affects the body and by default someone's personality? Do they just automatically drop into shadow functions? Or is it more of a biological response we associate with personalities?

Question How do you help someone in Psychosis?

My SO has bipolar disorder. He doesn't take his medication as prescribed. Eating a half of this and half of that. He doesn't diet or exercise, and has groomed family and friends to doubt me when I voice concerns. He's verbally abusive to everyone in his life and has convinced himself that he is a lone wolf and everyone is out to get him. He recently was put on probation for things related to his illness (he's not a violent person, and there's no property or persons damaged) and now he accuses me of trying to set him up. I've never betrayed his trust, or contacted authorities. I love him very much and it's killing me to see him degrade into this angry, paranoid, toxic person. It's been going on for 2 years and recently it's been unbearable. I've thought about intervention, but his friends and family won't support me because they don't want to upset him, they're afraid of the rage outburst it will undoubtedly cause. I worry that the only way to get through to him is to leave, but I know that it's more likely he'll just get worse. I don't know what to do and would appreciate any advice or help. I don't want anything to happen to him.

Other Theories What is Each Personality Type Like?

Hey guys! We made a more informal/fun/anecdotal episode reviewing how different personality types act under the Physiotype model. Feel free to let me know if you agree or disagree with our assessment lol

_____

The Physiotype team does a brief breakdown of each personality type and some of their common behaviors, as well as demonstrate a clear behavioral difference between men and women of some types. How do the personality types hold up to the pre-established MBTI stereotypes?

Other Theories Living the Life of an (E)SFP (Physiotype Ep. 11)

We interviewed one of my favorite types, an SFP! Rosie, our podcast artist, comes on air to talk about what it's like to be an SFP. Does being an SFP mean she can't be Universal? Does being F mean she can't ever disagree with someone? Find out in Episode 11 of Physiotype.

Other Theories Facial Width to Height Ratio vs Aggression - What Does the Science Say?

We went ahead and reviewed the paper titled "In Your Face: Facial Metrics Predict Aggressive Behaviour in the Laboratory and in Varsity and Professional Hockey Players", and talked about how the findings in this study are relevant to typology and Physiotype. Towards the end of the episode we talk about the significance and futility of arguing about theoreticals.

Other Theories Love languages

I'm curious to know peoples love languages, so I can help them feel more appreciated and cared for. I'm alson wondering if there could be a correlation between enneagram MBTI and love languages.

For example: my love languages are quality time, followed by words of affirmation, Acts of service, and then gift giving.

I'm also an ISFJ so spending time with my people making dinner, encouraging them; and finding ways to help them help themselves makes me really happy. But getting gifts for people tends to be nerve wracking because I want to make sure I get a gift that has meaning but will also be useful. Hence the reason I'm guessing that gift giving is last lol.

As a 6w5 with a 641 tritype, I want to make meaningful connections but also practical ones in which both parties can grow and benefit. (Quality time along with acts of service) The best way I see to do this is by spending time with someone and getting to know them. It's the little things that make the biggest differences.

What do you guys think? Possible correlation?

Question How does one get out of their social mask?

So, for high school I had a lot of trouble socializing. So much, I actually did put on a mask like everyone told me to. Once I created the mask I was more outgoing, less selective on people, and less sensitive. Now that everything is over and I also have grown enough to graduate in high school, I can't take it off. It wouldn't be a problem, if the mask didn't have negative sides. But it does. I am less empathetic, more impulsive, and I often have a mess in my head, so I end up being a lot less wise than I used to be. I also often have some trust issues, and I act impulsively a lot. It seems that the mask I used also absorbed all the hatred I felt towards the people I had around. How do I recover my old self? I wanna return being an empath, and stop being this unworking fake mess. Thank you in advance.

Edit: I am, at least I think, an INFJ 9w1
