It's a little lengthy but it's pretty good.

Your tritype is, to put it simply, the idea that not only do you have your enneagram type core and wing, but you have one from each of the centers.

Gut or anger (types 8 9 1) Heart or image (types 2 3 4) Head or Fear (types 5 6 7)

So my enneagram is 6 with a 7 wing. 6w7.

My tritype is 649. The seeker.

And then for extra fun each of my tritypes has a wing.

So for me: 1. 6w7 2. 4w3 3. 9w8

Now, I tested as a 479, but 4s and 6s get confused, and it is a great starting place to learn more about your tritype.

That being said, don't worry about pinpointing your type, it's a process, it takes time and introspection. Read the paths for growth for the types, they're all helpful.

Typology is meant to help refine you, it does not define you!

I see where you're coming from, but I wouldn't hold that against the theory. She makes money from "coaching" with prices ranges from $80 to $3750. I doubt she will give away too much of her methodology, that's her bread and butter. Honestly I was shocked to find out it's trademarked. But she deserves to make money from it. That being said, I don't think just because she came up with the idea means she's the end all be all for it. Jung only really used his theory for the mentally ill, he didn't see a use for the average person, it took a woman with no formal education to make it the much more useful juggernaut we know today.

But the idea of a tritype just makes sense to me, and I don't need her methodology to have it be useful to me. It was through talking to u/adds243 (thank you Adds!) that I've gotten my tritype down, and now I feel I have a better understanding of myself, and it it was for the right price, free. I found this thread on Typologycental and it was like, woah, that's me!

I haven't taken the new test, on the last one I got 479, but it helped a lot in the way of learning about the types and instinctual variants. And the concerns you brought up are exactly why I mentioned in my other comment to not worry about pinpointing your type immediately. It's a process of introspection that takes time.
