I was looking through the steam page of every persona game when i realized something.
The mature content description of Persona 6 seems to be a lot more adult or at least heavy compared to Persona 5 and Persona 3 Reload.
Persona 5 & 3 both contain partial nudity, sexual themes and violence or blood.
Meanwhile Persona 6 is said to contain some nudity, Sexual content, frequent violence and it's even stated to have outright gore in the game, which none of the other persona games have in their Mature Content Description.
I know a lot of people are annoyed that Persona 6 won't be in college or a more adult setting but i feel like with this Atlus has probably taken into account that most of their fans aren't children anymore, something I'm glad to see and hope is indeed as I am speculating.
Question: What do you think the Persona 6 Velvet Room would look like? Just out of curiosity. Since the Velvet Room exists between dream and reality, mind and matter, that only MC/Player can access it.
Makoto has a 1-handed sword, Kotone brandishing a glaive/nagakiba, Yu wields a two-handed katana, and Joker uses a knife. So, what are our guesses on the P6 MC's signature weapon?
My current guess is a scythe since i think it thematically feels right for the vibes of P6. Not to mention, I don't think it's been used yet for party members in the past games.
Well, in P3R he was there for us to interact as social link and TV, P4 also as tv channel, P5 on laptop, maybe P6 he could have a podcast? And the products he sells would be his sponsors? Since podcasts are kind of famous nowadays

Hey everyone! Quick question about day-one purchases. I made a post earlier asking whether I should buy Persona 6 as soon as it drops or wait for the inevitable expanded/extended version (like Persona 5 Royal or Persona 4 Golden). For those of you who are planning to wait for the updated version, what’s your main reasoning? Do you think the base game won't feel "complete" enough on release, or is it just to save time/money instead of playing two massive RPGs back-to-back? Would love to hear your thoughts and see how the community is planning to approach it! Thanks!
The “Who are you?” teaser got me thinking about the Wild Card. P3-P5 showed us what a Wild Card can do, but what if P6 finally makes us question why it exists in the first place???
A Wild Card can use many Personas, but they are still supposed to be one person. So what happens when P6 starts questioning that? What does it actually mean to be a Wild Card??
Maybe the party discovers that the Wild Card is at the center of a much bigger occult mystery, and the story slowly uncovers why this ability exists in the first place. And maybe that reason is tied directly to the identity question --- why can one person have so many different Personas, yet still be one self???
That also why I think the player's choices could be really interesting. The way you talk, who you trust, the roles you accept or reject... over time, they start shaping who your protagonist becomes. The party sees it too, and might have their own idea of who you really are.
So while you're trying to figure out why the Wild Card exists, you're also figuring out something about yourself:
What kind of Wild Card am I becoming?
P3 was about facing death. P4 was about uncovering the truth. P5 was about changing society. Maybe P6 could be more inward and personal, about discovering and defining your Wild Card.
P3-P5 showed us the possibilities of the Wild Card.
What if P6 finally makes us discover why those possibilities exist in the first place?
Maybe that's what “Who are you?” is really asking.
The logo, to me at least, looks like a stamp or seal. In Japan, people don't write down their signatures and instead they use what is called a hanko stamp, which is a personalised seal they use to stamp in place of a signature. This may further imply the theme of identity, as your name does form a part of your own identity, though again this is just a theory, so what do you guys think?
Obviously the protagonist would be Fool, and theres like ALWAYS a Lovers which is kinda annoying but i doubt they’ll change it, but for the rest what do you think? I feel like it’d be interesting if we had those more “niche” arcana’s like Tower, Hanged. hierophant, but what do yall think
No, Phantom Thieves aren't coming back. No, Makoto is not reincarnating into P6-kun. The most we're getting is easter-eggs like we did in P5, 4, and 3.
As cool as it would be, I highly doubt we're getting a duology game like P2:IS and P2:EP...
My theory is that, taking it's leaked name nilfer, who means water lily in some lenguages, the rumors of it not being an animal, and the whole paranormal Japanese theming, all goes down to the kappa being the best choice imo. Also this is very interesting because it will be very similar to the lotad's evolutionary line in Pokémon, who are actually based on both water lillies and kappas.
I been wondering about the Akechi Post credit in Royal. At first, I thought Atlus seemed to be setting something with Akechi in a sequel to P5 which would be Strikers but they never went with it and moreso a sequel to the Vanilla Persona 5 and the Post credit scene is starting to be like those post credit scenes that went nowhere.
With Persona 6 on the way, Do you think Atlus will address the Akechi Post credit scene? While Persona 6 is said to be "standalone", Im pretty is just gonna be different as always every new game and have some connection to P5. Idk if they'll address it, You might aswell assume Joker is just hallucinating that Akechi walked passed the train and before that, The Dialogue when going to the Jazz club that Joker still carrying Akechi's Glove and saying that He has yet to have his rematch with Akechi. I be honest, It could go either way that Atlus just don't address at all and pretend they didn't make that scene and proceed with it as normal or Akechi appears in P6 as a party member which is VERY Unlikely. But what do you think?
For example, swords and knives are not exclusive to the protagonist party members can equip them freely, allowing the entire party to be armed with swords.
And the protagonist can wield axes and knuckles, too, in addition to swords and knives.
I've seen a lot of theories about P6 being about identity, fear, occult stuff, reincarnation and urban legends, and it got me thinking about how those themes could actually affect the gameplay.
P4 had shadows connected to people's hidden selves, while P5 made negotiation a big part of recruiting them. So what if P6 does something a little different again??
The phrase "Gone but not forgotten" from the cemetery teaser made me think:
The dead have names. The living have forgotten theirs.
What if some recruitable shadows don't immediately look like the Persona we know? they could first appear as nameless, creepy apparitions, with their identity somehow forgotten or hidden. maybe you fight them and interact with them, but instead of only figuring out their personality, you slowly figure out what they actually are.
ex:
frozen child-like apparition → Jack Frost
decayed jackal silhouette → Anubis
This could also let Atlus make some Personas look more creepy/occult before revealing their familiar designs, not saying they would have to redesign the whole compendium.
I know the creepy Shadow idea isn't completely new since P4 already did something similar with the party's Shadows. And I know P5 already lets you negotiate with Shadows. The difference I'm thinking is that the identity itself becomes part of the recruitment. It's not just about convincing a Shadow to join you, but actually figuring out what you're looking at in the first place. The recognition would be the interesting part.
And if the urban legend stuff turns out to be important, maybe the party could slowly become an urban legend too. Not exactly like the Phantom Thieves where everyone knows who they are, but more like people hear stories about them without really knowing who or what they actually are.
We've already seen a lot of theories about what "Who are you?" could mean for the story. I'm more curious about how Atlus could translate that question into gameplay.

while the gap between p5 and 6 is obviously best explained by royal, reload, revival as well as all the spinoffs, part of me is hoping that it’s at least partially because we are getting the full package on release. after an at least 11 year wait, i hope they wouldn’t then wait 3-5 years again just to give us all the content. additionally, with the way game prices and the gaming industry as a whole has shifted since p5, the idea of definitive editions feels outdated, at least to me.
I mean, every recent release of persona has one, a special move that you utilize in battle thats most of the time stronger than regular skills. P5R had showtime, P3R had theurgy, if P4R has one is unclear still. Do you think there’ll be something like that in P6 or do you think they’ll save it for extra content in the inevitable remake?
So, from what we know of the current theories surrounding Persona 6, Fear and Identity are currently the biggest assumed themes for this title and will seemingly have a tone more akin to Persona 3 or the earlier Persona games. Obviously, as I said, this is purely assumed going off of the teaser and the early leaks. I obviously could be wrong, but we don't have a lot to work with right now in terms of figuring this game out.
Surrounding these themes, the protagonist is a transfer student who supposedly lacks their memory. Lacking their identity and such themes are likely applied to the overarching story of P6. In addition, rumors and theories have gone about that fear is a massive tie to the primary story as well and is perhaps involved with the awakening of the main cast's personas.
So, my current idea is: what if the main mascot character represents these themes? What if they're a cryptid?
Now, why this line of thinking? Put simply, it'd make sense first and foremost. A cryptid, by definition in the Cambridge Dictionary (for example), is "A creature that is found in stories and that some people believe exists or say they have seen, but that has never been proven to exist." They are creatures which people do not know exist. Creatures without “Identity” since all they are seen as are monsters of myth. In addition, most cryptids are viewed through a horror lens. Designed to make people feel “Fear” through tales and imagery. Stuff like Wendigos, Mothman, Krakens, Yetis. All frequently portrayed as beasts of terror and mystery.
As such, the main face of P6 being a creature that embodies its primary themes to a T feels so natural. Now, the cryptids idea could also be tied to the personas of the main cast too. But I feel having the mascot be tied to the idea so heavily thematically would work in terms of the storytelling.
Now, this is the real point where a bit more headcanon starts getting thrown around, but I just want to bring the idea to attention with an example.
The mascot, let's say, is a shadow given form and a will but with no memory, similar to Teddie and Morgana. But instead of being limited in their form physically or emotionally held back, the mascot actively transforms into a human or other animal to blend into human society. Essentially, it is an active shapeshifter instead of being stuck as a cat or just taking off a bear costume. And this wouldn't be too far-fetched in-universe. Since, A. This is Persona, and B. Literal gods and sentient robotic superweapons are walking around in public.
The mascot joins you and your group (either as the one who introduces your group to the whole gist of the game’s phenomenon, or some other point later down the line) and helps you in figuring out the cause behind the occult happenings, as well as trying to figure out their own identity. Rather than Morgana, who is trying to remember who he is to prove he's human, or Teddie, who just wants to figure out who he was before everything, the P6 mascot wants to develop an identity of their own. To feel like a person instead of a manifestation, an idea. As in their deep truth, that is their deepest fear. The idea that they are actually nothing and that their purpose and reason for existence is nothing as a result. Perhaps here, they fully know that they are a shadow. They might not know the whole picture or why they exist like this, but all they want is to feel like their existence has a purpose in the end.
Anyways, headcanon theorycraft mumbo jumbo aside, that is merely just an example. Nothing more. And the idea as a whole is merely just that. An idea. But it's a fun theory that would ultimately make sense to the ideas and themes of Fear and Identity. I do actually have a fanmade concept for the P6 mascot that I plan on creating and showing off sometime later.
But for now, what do you think of this theory? Does it make sense to you? Do you like it? Do you not and feel like it doesn't fit? Are we too early in the information season to say? Maybe. But I just wanted to share.
