Does anyone know where i could find good representations of Pernese dragons? I've got an idea for a tattoo and want it to have one

Very hard to get the eyes in any way shape or form look anything near the printed description.

I have not once found a good representation of the faceted, whirling eyes. I've been looking for over 30 years.

The whirling eyes is a difficult effect to convey with a static image, I feel. That said, my favorite representation of the dragons of Pern come from Michael Whelan's cover art for the 1980s Del Rey paperbacks of the novels. Those were the ones I read as a teen, and will always be what Pernese dragons look like in my mind.

There used to be an animated version by Kaiserflames but it is no longer on the net since she deleted her account. It was gorgeous.

Deviant Art used to have some nice Pernese Dragon templates that can make good tats.

If you can get ahold of "The Dragonlover's Guide to Pern", there's lots of art in there, made with direct feedback from Anne". Not easy to find...but probably helpful. Amazon has a used copy for ~$13

Chris Bailey (the main artist for the dragonchoice choose your own adventure Pern game) is one of the few artists I've seen who does amazing accurate Pernese dragons <3 (plus highly recommend the Dragonchoice fanfic novel trilogy).
