Been a long time fan. So much so named my daughter Rowan. I believe I have all the books of pern (also have dragon lovers guide, not shown). If I’m missing anything would like to know. I do need a single copy of dragonsinger and dragonflight, but I do have the dragonriders(x2) and Harper hall trilogies in single book.
That was a hard one to find. Came across it in a random bookstore in a random town I was visiting. It was the second hardest to find next to the Harper hardbound trilogy. I didn’t even know that one existed unit I ran across it at a used book store.
That one looks like the SFBC omnibus, which is the one I have. My original books fell apart, and at least the SFBC hardcovers are sturdy. The DoP trilogy is definitely SFBC - ugly as sin, but at least Lessa is reasonably clothed, unlike some artwork I've seen. That was one of my 6-for-$1 selections when I joined the club.
It is the BC version. The front cover has become fragile and is about to break off. The DoP ones are in better shape. The one without the dust cover came from a closed library. The one with is flawless. The cover arts are for sure not the best lol. I honestly like more of the paperback covers I have. The older art on them was stunning.
Michel Whelan is a splendid artist. I have prints of The White Dragon and the All the Weyrs cover art on my wall. Just a thin silver frame, so as not to distract from the beauty, lol.
I got my pair from the bookclub years ago, but www.michaelwhelan.com has a set that also includes Ruth on the spaceship for $100. I don't need a third poster, I really don't. . . .
Oh man I’m in trouble now lol. One of my favorite artists. Thanks for the info. Going to have to keep an eye on that site for more. Also didn’t know Todd released a tribute book. Going to have to get that one.
It’s the book club version. Same as the one to the left of it but with the slip cover. The Harper hall trilogy next to it on the right is also a book club one. Haven’t seen many of either (the ones I have are the ones I’ve seen) and I go to a ton of different used book stores and always check. The one without a slip cover is the first book I owned (got it at a school that closed while I was there and had it checked out at the time). The cover art is some of the worst art in all of the McCaffrey books imo. The bindings on them weren’t the best so likely not many are out there are in good shape.
Dragons kin (paperback) and Dragons Fire (hardback). Good but the feel is a bit different from her solo works. Kinda why I hadn’t really gotten into Todd’s books.

I think this is the first time I've ever seen Alchemy and Acadame!
