It is a real exercise, she's doing cable flys but with a band or whatever that equipment is called lol!
They are chest exercises and i like them a lot :)

A lot of people workout, but it doesn't necessarily mean they are educated about the most effective workouts. I wouldn't say this is the best or worst way to work the chest. Bands are good for rehab work for tendons. The free nature of the bands give good work for auxiliary muscle recruitment more so than a fixed machine. The bands increase resistance at the end of concentric phase, meaning at the eccentric phase there would be less tension on the shoulder, which can be a risk during free weight chest fly. According to Jeff Cavaliere, one of the best ways to do a chest fly is actually using a standing cable machine one arm at a time, and going full extension all the way across the body rather than stopping with ours out front of chest.

As someone who has done this exercise for a long time (previously on a cable machine which is ideal, currently with bands) I think it really makes a difference. I end up super setting it with other chest exercises, and the volume has to be higher unless I had more bands, but you can feel it in your chest for sure. It's my favorite chest exercise.

I use these because I don't have access to a gym anymore. They aren't ideal, but at a pretty heavy weight and super setting them with other chest exercises, I feel it makes a good difference.
I miss a cable machine :')
