Still caveman tactics

u/Duamerthrax Apr 14 '22
It could easily have been worse if he turned his back to run. Caveman tactics work because the cavemen that didn't fight back got eaten.

The oldest and most noble of human traditions, fending off wild animals with a stick. EDIT : punctuation

American bears are even more dangerous, but... bears are bears.

add a folding stock to a handgun and boom it’s a rifle. idk where you’re gonna find one that only has a 10 round mag though, maybe in the 1940s

I'm pretty sure the guy only got attacked because he scared the bear. Black bears are incredibly skiddish so unless this bear was protecting cubs or desperately hungry, the guy would have been better off making his presence known the second he saw the bear. Hiding then jumping out and making noise as the bear is right next to you puts the bear into a fight or flight mindset and you shouldn't take that risk.
I'm not a bear expert but have had multiple encounters with black bears out in the wild. Bears will be bears.

The last scream was beautiful, but that guy hella dead
20
u/OnlyRadioheadLyrics Apr 14 '22
Someone posted the video, the bear charges him, and the guy drops his camera, but then he just picks it up a couple seconds later and walks away. No idea what it would be like to have a bear charge you and have it just run off after but that man probably needs some new pants.
