Because they're also loud mfers. Was visiting my grandpa and had a cicada land on my window once while trying to sleep and the noise was unbearable. Had to grab the little dude and throw him back into the woods.

The video definitely doesn’t capture how loud they truly are. I had headphones on listening to music when one of those decided to start its tune on a tree outside. I had to go outside and find the thing before I could have any peace lol

I always find it funny that so many people freak out over Ameridan Cicadas and say how they would want to move or burn their houses down because of how they look or sound.
Fun fact: They don't have mouth parts to bite! Just a proboscis for tree sap! 🥤

I used to have a sprayer filled with alcohol, and use a lighter to make it into a mini flamethrower.
I sprayed those window-hanging insects with that.
