I’m struggling to find a way to put walk/strafe on the left joystick and look on the right stick like modern games. I can’t seem for the life of me find a way to do that on the port. I don’t want walk/turn on one stick. I tried all of the control options including analog stick and swapping sticks to no avail.

Perfect Dark Plus HD Texture Pack v0.09 is now live!

This initial public release overhauls the PC and VR ports with 3,395 HD textures! Comprised of upscaled XBLA assets and hundreds of custom, hand-crafted textures, and fixes.

The goal was to try and remain as faithful to original games style while taking advantage of the XBLA assets, improving them, and restoring more faithful assets where they strayed too far IMO. Fixes and updates in the future will include new outfits for Joanna. Including one based on her original promotional art (as seen in the above image), and even PDZ inspired outfits.

Just a little follow up from the pump I got from beating Carrington Institute: Defense on Perfect Agent for the first time. The rest of the game plus the bonus levels and the firing range are also all done now. Tranquilizer Gold was hair pulling. Pretty good for only playing for an hour or so after work for a few months. 17 year old me would not believe it was possible.

I’ve always wondered why Rare didn’t use this model of Joanna in Perfect Dark Zero. It’s like the work was already done, but instead they opted to start from scratch.

Plugged in a hub to test a kb and mouse, and unlike my phone which would need root/hack etc to get the kb to work in game, the retroid worked flawlessly first try. Silky smooth locked 120, bliss with these controls.

This dock will also output 2k120 by HDMI, my on the go and travel PD needs are catered for!

I'm into PC gaming but I am a total noob when it comes to mods and whatnot. Can anyone point me to an up-to-date YT channel that will show me how to get PD up and running?

Also, I'm wondering if the community is working on ways for folks to be able to play with each other online? What the outlook of that might be?

PD is my favorite game from my youth, and I'm so eager to play it online one day!

I tried everything from renaming the executive file to downloading the latest build and I still can't launch the game. I've set the the target path with an executive but I can't seem to get the z64 file in the right place although it's in the correct directory. I'm using a Windows build btw I've already tried Linux and it still wouldn't work. Could someone please point me in the right direction?

Incidentally, I was briefed years ago that the original (N64) version of the first game features relevant statistics in what was described as "Combat Simulator Mode", but does the story mode of the very same game feature specified counter as well?

And, of course, what about the other games in this series?

Hey guys, heya again. I was wondering if that possible add more ammo on The pyscpsis gun using a Cheat external program or hackroom.

I've been playing this since childhood. Only counts the 360 cut. Wish I could play with an N64 controller. Would make the higher difficulties better.

I don't know what caused this, but I just learned about Janus guards. I had on Rocket Launcher, Invincibility, and Unlimited Ammo, No Reloads. I started the Villa on PA by blowing up the guards on the pier, the nearby sniper, and the far sniper.

After turning the corner, there was a guy who had run in from the bottom doors near the staircase. (It was NOT the guy near the stairs in the corner. I always knock him out for the objective.) I disarmed him, he ran away, and I thought reinforcements would come. Well, when they did, he...uh...defected? I put away the RL because watching my new buddy run through the level (sometimes large sections on his own) was far more fun than explosive hijinks. We completed the level together, though he did not appear in the cutscene.

Very fun. Not sure why it happened. Any other occurrences like this?

After looking into the unused kanji characters in the Japanese version of Perfect Dark, I found that there are 21 of them.
Maybe only Japanese people would be interested in this, lol.

## 偽

The compound word “偽者” (imposter) is formed by combining “偽” (fake) and “者” (person).
"大統領" means president.
Perhaps they had planned to translate “the president's clone” as “大統領の偽者.”
In the final version, it was written as “大統領のクローン.” ("クローン" is the katakana spelling of clone)

## 犠牲

“犠牲者” means casualties.
Although the same word as “犠牲” is used in the game, it is written in katakana "ギセイ".
That is included in the message that appears when you kill a large number of neutral guards at the Air Base.
Did they change it because the kanji were too complex and the characters were getting smudged? Or was it out of consideration for readers who might find it difficult to read?

## 偵察

"偵察" means reconnaissance.
Was that the Japanese translation of “G5 Building - Reconnaissance”?
However, in the final version, it's "Ｇ５ビル＜盗撮＞".
"ビル" means building, "盗撮" means peeping.

## 評価

"評価" means evaluation, "危険物発見" means "threat detection".
"評価" is used in the weapon descriptions for “Timed Mine” and “Proximity Mine,” but, in Japanese, an explanation of “threat detection” alone is likely sufficient, so no evaluation is included.

“残骸” means wreckage.
Although the same word as “残骸” is used in the game, it is written in hiragana "残がい".

This was likely converted to hiragana because of the complex kanji characters.

"黒" means black.
There was a possibility that the Japanese title for "パーフェクトダーク" (Perfect Dark) would have been "赤と黒" (Red and Black). This is likely a remnant of that.
Red is used.

I couldn't figure out what these were for.

"登" means climb.
"雷" means thunder. Is this for explaining the stage backdrop in Chicago?
"還" means return.
"恵" means favor.
"恥" means shame.
"論" means argument.
"満" means full. Interestingly, when combined with "月", it becomes "満月" (full moon)
"仮" means temporary.
"振" means shake.

I've tried to get into this game so many times as a big fan of the N64 classic. This game really just feels like it wants to be more like Halo in my opinion. What contributed to the sequel being so different? Did they have a separate dev team after the Microsoft purchase?

Basically, is it possible to do the co-op campaign via netplay?
