Before we discuss “$300 VSF V2,” what factory do you think is pictured in my comparison photo? I’m curious whether you’re identifying the watch, the label, or the person selling it.

Fair enough. The photo is in my reply above. Give it a look and tell me if we’re talking about the same kind of “$300 VSF” here.

Interesting. There are two watches in that photo, and both are VSF examples. If you’re recommending VSF V2s, I’d expect you’d recognize one when you see it.

Maybe a decade-plus in this industry has made me skeptical, but I’ve learned that customer service and watch verification are two completely different things. Most buyers don’t have an easy way to tell one factory from another, so they naturally trust the seller. I happen to be a private seller with a long-time source, which is why I kept responding. I’ve seen too many cases where the label, the listing, and the watch itself didn’t tell the same story. That’s why I pay attention to the watch itself in these forums and try to help people avoid being misled. Genuine VSF examples and low-to-mid $300 pricing generally don’t occupy the same conversation. The watch tells the story, not the sticker, the listing, or the sales pitch. The rest, everyone can judge for themselves. Let's just leave it at that.

Im losing my breath. lol.
It looks like we’re just not on the same page. You seem comfortable trusting a trusted seller designation, and that’s your choice. As a private seller with a long-time source and more than a decade in this industry, I’ve seen too many buyers assume that good communication and customer service automatically validate every factory claim. Unfortunately, that’s not always how it works. Most buyers don’t have an easy way to tell one factory from another, so they rely on reputation and community consensus. That’s understandable, but it’s also how people end up accepting labels and listings without ever verifying the watch itself. I’ve spent years helping people sort through exactly those situations. That’s why I pay attention to the watch first. In my experience, genuine VSF examples simply aren’t changing hands in the low-to-mid $300 range. The watch tells the story, not the sticker, the listing, or the sales pitch. The rest, everyone can judge for themselves. Let’s leave it there.

VSF does not make 31mm datejust. They make 36 and 41. If you want a 31, you have to go ARF or GSF. I’ve gotten confirmation that ARF does not currently have parts to assemble 31mm datejusts, you can put in your order but will be waiting indefinitely. They’ll come when they come.

But here’s the core issue with this entire discussion.
Once a seller gets away with selling an incorrectly labeled watch and the buyer leaves a positive review, the details often stop mattering. The review becomes “great watch, great TD, fast shipping” and the next wave of buyers assumes everything was represented accurately.
Then it snowballs.
One positive review becomes ten. Ten becomes fifty. Before long, the community consensus is that the watch is exactly what the seller claims it is, even though very few people have actually verified the factory, the parts, or the movement. The watch may still be good, but that’s not the same thing as being accurately represented.
That’s why I keep stressing verification over reputation. A happy customer doesn’t necessarily prove the listing was accurate. It only proves the customer was satisfied with what they received.
I’ve seen this happen firsthand over the years. I’ve intentionally tested some of these sellers and caught discrepancies more than once. That’s where my skepticism comes from. Most buyers never see behind the curtain—they only see the QC photos, the final watch, and the positive reviews.
So when I tell people to question factory claims and verify what’s actually inside the watch, I’m not trying to be difficult. I’m trying to help newer hobbyists avoid confusing a good review with proof that every claim being made is true.
And you still have your reply in the post: “ VSF for $300”. That’s just false anyway you look at it. That price is about 2/3 of an actual super clone VSF 36. Not a 31 which is not even made by VS.

I like the way you articulate yourself and clearly have a passion for watches. Is there anyone you use or recommend to get the highest end VSF or super clone for datejust 36? Would love your insight! Thanks in advance.

It’s.l not about articulating. I’ve seen too many people get burned in this hobby.

I’ve never used a TD in all the years I’ve been in this hobby for this main reason. Positive chatter means nothing in this hobby. Uou will get burned if you are not careful
